Fall and Thanksgiving Ideas
Here in Canada, Thanksgiving is about 6 weeks away. We observe Canadian Thanksgiving on the second Monday in October.
According to my quick research, our Thanksgiving wasn’t a yearly event. Nor was it celebrated at the same time of year. Dates varied. It’s one of the holidays that has moved it’s dates around the calendar until landing eventually on the second Monday of October.
With the civil war in the USA and many Americans fleeing to Canada as refugees, along with them came their own traditions and ideas. With that, Canada eventually celebrating Thanksgiving as well. In 1957, the day was finally decided to where it should fall onto the calendar. Thanksgiving was to give thanks for the abundance of the harvest that had finished.
Either way you look at it whether you Canadian or American, it’s about appreciating what you have and being thankful.
So in light of our Thanksgiving and with the American Thanksgiving following behind it in November, here are some patterns to consider:
