I completed this hat but feel that the total height of it is kinda short in the front and back but the ear flaps go lower than my ears. And it’s overall a little loose. I checked the gauge and had good tension. I think the hat needs tweaking but the look of it is adorable!

I think the finished product is really cute but the pattern is badly written, therefore hard to follow. For instance: “1.”: Is this supposed to be “Round 1.”? Most patterns would have this step separate, and the next part which is “2.” Would actually be “Round 1.”. I found myself getting lost immediately because when I looked at my rounds, I would have 3 but according to the directions I would be on “4.”. In addition, a good pattern will let you know how many stitches you are supposed to have at the end of each round, which this one does not. How are you supposed to know if you have made a mistake if you don’t know how many stitches you are supposed to have at the end of each round?
