The Crochet Crowd Honours Ribbon
Crochet Crowders know on Facebook that we take the time to highlight the creativity displayed by others on a daily basis. Our goal as a community is to feature a minimum of 6,000 crocheters in a year. Truth is, I think we exceed that.
The Crochet Crowd is community focused in inspiring each other. We help each other as much as we can.
The act of acknowledgement is free and can raise the spirits of another. The form of acknowledgement just doesn’t have to be from my team, it can be from each of the participants in our community.
Thousands of posts touch our hearts in some way. Each chosen photo feature is a random selection. It’s like winning a lottery. Truth is, our team gets a kick out of featuring other people. It brings us natural smiles here. The Crochet Crowd, though directed by the team and myself, it’s not all about us. It’s about “WE”, which includes you.
A couple years ago, I remember a crocheter begin devastated about not winning an award at a show. Turns out, she had done the work but the show ended up being cancelled. The afghan was really amazing. So I thought to myself, though we are a cyber based community, there’s nothing wrong with us to say, ‘This deserves a cyber blue ribbon for excellence!’ People got behind us in congratulating this crocheter. It was a great feeling.
So for about a year, I’ve been wanting a ribbon that is from us, created by us. The design has been bouncing in my head for months. I wanted something scrapbook’ee’ but also relevant to us as a community. Occasionally, we offer the Cyber Blue Ribbon Comment for excellence. Now we have an official graphic to share.
You may see from time to time us putting this award in the comment thread of a photo if we are so inspired by the creativity shown. The Honours Award isn’t based on being the best. It’s sometimes the stories, accomplishments and more that are conveyed within the photo and blurb that you add to it.
The Crochet Crowd “I’ve Been Featured Ribbon”

If you have been featured by us, you are welcome to download our graphic to share on your Facebook, Websites, Blogs or other social medias.
The featured positions on our daily Facebook are random choices, each and every day. It’s like winning a lottery.

Official The Crochet Crowd Featured Ribbon Mugs are now available for purchase if you are inclined to do so. It’s not required but just a great keepsake.

Hi Mikey, absolutely bang on as usual, fantastic idea, I really love this Crowd. My blanket for my little girl was featured a couple of weeks ago and I was blown away by all of the people who made the effort to comment and like it, I couldn’t believe that something I made could actually inspire one person let alone a ton of them, such a feeling is indescribable, thank you x I managed to finish it yesterday and the only thing that topped that feeling was my daughters reaction when I brought her up and showed it on her bed, she’s been waiting very patiently for it, so delighted.
I would like to download the ribbon but I can’t find the link, could anyone show me where it is?
Mikey and Gang … this is a another wonderfully thoughtful gift from The Crochet Crowd. Simple acknowledgement from one’s peers can make a world of difference in one’s self worth and inspire further creativity. Giving a piece of crocheting as a gift to a family member or a friend is an attempt to convey my love and appreciation of them by giving of my time to create something with my hands especially for that particular person. I appreciate your sharing your talent and creativity freely to all us. THANK YOU and The GANG at The Crochet Crowd for all that you do for your fellow Happy Hookers, it is truly appreciated.
Michael, what a wonderful, thoughtful and encouraging idea. You are truly a loving and caring person and am so proud you and Daniel are friends of mine..
I truly love this article, I try to keep a positive vibe in my life daily no matter how hard life can get. And since I have joined The Crochet Crowd I feel inspired to be a better me and I love trying to help other feel great about themselves and their creations. I try to at least like others work and give them an encouraging thought or comment. It is the beauty, individuality and the sense of Family that The Crowd gives me an emotional uplifting, encouraging, and loving thing to look at and read on a daily basis. Thank you Mikey, Daniel, Cathy, and all the members of the Crowd that bring joy to my life. <3
