From talk to reality, I received a beautiful half page feature about The Crochet Crowd and myself. 

I will admit, when Lee Ann Dalton, writer, contacted me in January 2013 about the potential to be featured, I was really floored that Vogue Knitting would classify me as someone worthy to talk about in their magazine. I was beyond thrilled.

Vogue Knitting Crochet Edition is done once per year and I am truly honoured that I was selected to partake in this edition. The compliments from Lee Ann about my journey and work were really touching.

Viewers Have Mailed In Donations

Is Inspiration Worth Time?

I know that yarn bombing isn't thee most popular thing to do. People have expressed their opinions about me wasting yarn when it could have went to the needy. One comment from several people really got under my skin. The yarn bike is intended for Canada's Largest Consumer Craft Show this month.

Brand New Website

The Crochet Crowd Website as you know it today will become obsolete as we move to the future. We are investing into our future by upgrading to the latest technologies available. The entire website is being re-designed with a whole new look and features that are currently not available to us. 

We will be completely mobile friendly and much more. 

Our website goes under transformation between March 27th - April 13th, 2013. Some patterns/content may not be available as we work through this process.

It's Not About Winning

The rules of the next afghan challenge have been drastically tightened. We appreciate the comments by challengers and have strived to make appropriate changes for our future club challenges. We wanted to make this a fun challenge and not a winner/loser competition. As pointed out over the past 6 weeks, everyone is a winner for participating in our community challenge and inspiring each other beyond measure. This issues brought forward midway through our challenge gave us insight to re-write our guidelines to ensure fairness and equality.

Facebook Photo Uploading Constantly Crashing

In attempting to do a photo gallery on Facebook for the Spring Fling Challenge. I am bringing photos from FLICKR to Facebook to help viewers see their work. It is taking an hour or more just to input A FEW photographs from Flickr to Facebook. 

Facebook Photo Uploading is constantly crashing. This is causing some pictures not to appear on Facebook which is upsetting some participants. It's very frustrating and very time consuming.

Mikey Keeps His Pink Shirt

Next week, The Crochet Crowd celebrates our 5th Anniversary. In only five years, I have grown from just a YouTuber loving crochet to an internationally recognized face of the crochet world. As times have changed, so has my image and personal presentation. 

Daniel introduced me to the vests back in 2010 and surprisingly became my signature look with my hot lips pink shirt. For 2013, I have upgraded to include a purple vest instead of black. I have also included a light weight sport jacket. To top it off, on special occassions, I will wear my new bow tie to really bring the outfit together. Every celebrity/popular person has a signature look that defines them. This is my new look.

New Mikey Image, Michael Sellick

Many people may not know that it was Diva Dan that created my image of the vests with the bright coloured shirts. In the next tutorial series and live show, I will be unveiling my new look. It's kind of fun to change but not always for a great reason. 

Due to the success of The Crochet Crowd, I am stuck behind a computer 12 - 14 hours a day and get very little exercise. I work 7 days a week. Unfortunately the lack of being active has played a toll on me. Due to myself being a workaholic, I don't mind working the hours even if it means I am not getting enough exercise. I've gained weight and it's hard to deny it.
