This week, we at the The Crochet Crowd Studio in southern Ontario finally started to have beautiful weather! Are you? It is quite amazing how after a long winter nap, we see people talking on the streets and chatting up a storm of their daily lives that happened over the winter. We have this wonderful elderly neighbour who was doing his daily walk who screamed out that spring have finally arrived and we agreed! It’s like spring has sprung in their own personal mental health with smiles and laughter. It is so nice to be able to crochet outside, listen to the birds and of courses chat with the causal bystander. It’s like stitch 1, 2, 3, 4 & slap a biting mosquito. The cycle just keeps going and going. Eventually the bugs win driving me inside behind a screen so I can crochet in peace.
What are we crocheting? Well, we are having a ton of fun with cotton yarns. As you may know, cotton has the properties of being breathable and absorbing moisture away from the body. It allows you to feel cool. Interestingly, research says that cotton can take in 1/5 of it’s weight in water before feeling damp.
