I’ve just received my copy of the Crochet! Magazine produced by Annie’s Publication in the mail this past week. Daniel is a huge magazine reader whether it be print or digital. Though I will say, 95% of his magazines are now digital through his iPad these days.
Crochet! is the only 100% crochet magazine we get here at home. I’m Canadian and I’ve noticed other crochet magazines do not deliver to Canada. I have to go to Wal-mart if I want to pick up other magazines but I tend to forget about them as I don’t go to Wal-mart often. Out of sight, out of mind I guess you can say.
As members of Crochet Guild of America, (CGOA), we automatically get a copy with our yearly membership to this organization. I’m just a quiet member with this organization. I tend not to attend very many conferences in general due to the cost of travel expenses. I will be at the Knit & Crochet Show coming up in Manchester, New Hampshire later on this July.
I have to say, I am so impressed with the latest issue for Crochet! The edition is well put together and there are so many projects that have caught my attention. I love how they make crochet look so elegant but also so doable. With superb photography, diagrams as well as clear and concise patterns, success of a general crocheter is possible.
There are other magazines where you look through the entire magazine admiring the creativity but then you know you will never do anything because it’s either not your style, not your level of crochet, it’s not something you can do in the time you have and/or it’s just not something you can use.
I have really appreciated that they have used yarn choices that are readily available in independent as well as major boxed retailers. Having access to the yarns is a big thing.
So what is my favourite project inside? The Reversible Intarsia Scarf has me excited in this edition. There’s a few reasons why?
- There’s never enough mens’ patterns available.
- It’s Intarsia, a skill that I could brush up on. The photography and close up shots of the stitches in action make it possible for me to learn.
- It’s a style that I know Diva Dan would wear. Hint Hint… Gift Gift!
For a limited time, you can see ALL OF THE PROJECTS in this magazine on the Crochet! Magazine Website. This link will not last forever and will be changed once the next edition comes out. Be sure to check it out fast.
Crochet! Magazine Website does offer a few free crochet patterns. Quality patterns I might add from their magazines. You can download the patterns and use them at a later time if you wanted to. This page also changes so what you see today, I bet won’t be there for long until something else comes along that they are sharing with us.
Over all, I really enjoyed this magazine of all of the Crochet! Magazines I have seen so far. I feel, especially with this edition, there is something for everyone inside with a nice generous amount of projects to tempt crocheters. Well done Crochet! Magazine.
I am not associated in any way with Annie’s Publications. My review is based on my own findings that I think crocheters would enjoy.
