Geisha Style Jacket
I am completely in love with this Geisha Style Jacket!
For some reason, when I’m shopping for clothing for myself I ALWAYS end up having my eye on the most expensive item! Does that ever happen to you? So, par for the course, when looking for free patterns, which do I end up choosing? The more complicated pattern, especially for a beginner like myself. Hahaha.
It took me close to 3 weeks to finish. I won’t lie, understanding the pattern for the sleeves was a bear! I must have frogged it at least 10 times before I finally got it right. (To tell you the truth, I’m still not 100% sure that I got it exactly right. Hehehe) I wanted to give up so many times, but I really wanted this jacket! So, after a long 3 weeks… I can finally say that it’s done! “Phew!”
Although it was quite a challenge, I am pretty proud of myself for sticking to it and accomplishing such a challenging pattern. I’m giving myself a “pat” on the back for this one!
I would love to hear what you think of this Free Japanese Geisha Jacket. Have you done this pattern before? If so, please post a picture. What have you accomplished that you never thought you’d be able to do?

I have had the opportunity to meet Vashti Braha, she is intelligent and really nice. You can visit her website at Designing Vashti. Congratulations to Anna for sticking to her guns with the pattern. It’s easy to give up. I say, even if you didn’t end up with the exact pattern, judging by your face, it doesn’t matter. It’s what brings you joy in the end that matters1
