Getting Ready For Show
We’ve arrived in Manchester, New Hampshire without any difficulties at all. I was so tired and I thought most of the journey that I was going to pull up a nap when I got to the hotel. Daniel reminds me that I am crazy. As he put it, all that you need to see is a lobby full of crocheters and knitters doing their thang and I will bypass sleeping because I was be excited. Like clockwork and being so predictable, he was right and exactly what he predicted came true.
I don’t go to conferences that often and I am terrible in remembering names and faces. It’s embarrassing to some degree when a designer reminds me that we have met and I cannot recall it. I tend to remember eccentric and designers that hit an emotional core with me. A designer that told me a story that I connected with and/or had a same point of view. It’s difficult when you meet a designer or fan for just a few minutes and the conversation is so quick.
Like everyone else, I pulled out my Red Heart Yarn Bag with my current project and joined in the fun. I will tell you though, I need this right now. A sense of being amoungst others in the industry, hearing their cheers and jeers to gain perspective.
It’s been a great experience so far… Today… we are setting up the show floor with Red Heart and Crochetville. There is a show preview for the designers tonight at 7pm and the show opens to the public tomorrow.
Gotta run and get breakfast! Enjoy your day!
