Kreso Cavlovic
One of the Diva Dan and I’s biggest inspirational person in our lives is Kreso Cavlovic. We’ve known Kreso (pronounced cray-sho) for 4 years when we took a leisurely walk through Elora Ontario. We walked into his studio and were taken back by the colour of his artwork. He was exceptionally talkative and inviting. Joined with his lovely better half, Goldie, a friendship naturally formed.
We instantly fell in love with one of his pieces and we had to wait to save our money. There is nothing like owning an original piece of art that is one-of-kind. Daniel would come to study under Kreso for learning how to paint. We splurge once a year to buy a painting from Kreso. As he evolves, so does his art. You will recognize some of his paintings in our home during filming.
Kreso’s attention to inner passion, spirituality and emotions are caught within his work. Like me, he works each day. Many of his pieces sell in mid production as people see his imagery and immediately have a connection with it.
Yesterday, our latest painting that I asked Kreso to do late last year was ready. He’s been preparing art work for art galleries in Hong Kong. His work circulates the world and has been showcased in galleries in New York. Lucky for us, he’s only an hour and half drive from us.

We wanted a painting that would represent Diva Dan and I. We never restrict Kreso to painting exactly what we hope for. Instead we convey the message of what we would like to feel when looking at a painting and leave the rest to him.
Though we know the meaning of this painting. It is simply called “Love”. Kreso has a policy to allow people to put their own interpretation to his work. He shares his vision and the owner comes up with the blanks to put their own meanings into his work.
Kreso is known for his colour being loud, strong and vibrant. He does it so well.
If you ever are in Elora Ontario, do yourself a favour and stop by his studio called Gallery Vernissage. It’s open to the public as he paints right there. He’s not a machine and doesn’t pump out pieces left, centre and right. He takes his time so he is happy with the final results.
If you are looking to collect paintings and/or looking to start collecting paintings, Kreso’s work is affordable, memorable and will be a cherished item in your home.
Really like the art. The colors, just think it’s really cooool. Old school!
I like it….reminds me of stained glass……..and I love stained glass
Wow! I love his work! I can see why you are in love with his work! It is moving, emotional and beautiful – exactly what fine art should be!
Wow! That is my first impression. I’ve got to go back because it was so fast but I loved the spirituality embodied in so many works of art!
