I’m having a problem with a pattern online. Can you contact the company / designer to find out if there is an error or how to fix the issue I am having?
Most companies have customer service departments or protocols set up to assist crocheters with pattern issues.
In many cases, there are many blogs with free patterns written by individuals with no contact information to reach out to them. I assume that if they don’t have contact information, they do not wish to be contacted.
When it comes to patterns, the right method of communication is required. If you see an error in a website / magazine or publication, chances are the ownership of the pattern belongs to that website / magazine / publisher. You should contact them directly as it’s up to them to reach out to the designer to seek resolution. You should not contact the designer directly. If there is a problem on the website / magazine, you can inform the company so they know about it and make changes, notices or revise something as other people may have experienced the same issue.
Designers in the world of crochet are like celebrities, you need to go through the proper channels when communicating your concerns.
