Walt Disney and Cruises
Last Friday, we soft launched our second half of 2017’s retreats for The Crochet Crowd. We have had people on the edges of their seats trying to secure our next set of Crochet Cruises. Bookings are now well under way.
By the time these two cruises and Disney rolls around, we will have had approximately 707 crocheters join us in our exclusive retreats. Some of the retreaters also bring family and friends to accompany them but don’t participate in our activities. They find stuff to do on the ship while we are enjoying our 1.5 hour workshops. All together with friends and crocheters, we will have taken over 925 passengers on cruise ships with us.
We have conducted one retreat with two other YouTube Celebs in Texas in 2012. We learned a lot from this experience. Crocheters love to bring family and friends but there has to be something for the family and friends to do while the crocheters are with us. People like to combine a vacation with our retreat.
Location is the hardest part of choosing a land retreat. It’s impossible to please everyone, so we have to decide based on the activities, pricing and a whole lot more behind the scenes.
Our main workshop sponsor, Yarnspirations, is key to our success in helping us provide free tutorials and so much free content throughout the year. For our events, Yarnspirations, is an amazing partner in recognizing that the participants that join us are supplied with all of their activities. For 2016, we’ve been keeping quiet what the crocheters will be learning and what they will be given on the ship. Along with The Crochet Crowd, Yarnspirations has been phenomenal and continues to be a valued content partner and supporter of The Crochet Crowd.
In cooperation with Walt Disney World, through our group planner/agent Sherry, we have a wonderful line up of magical fun.
We have three Stitch Socials scheduled throughout 3 days at Walt Disney World.
- Magic Kingdom – Tomorrowland Oct 18, 2017
- Epcot – Exclusive Access to Living Seas Salon Oct 19, 2017
- Animal Kingdom – Exclusive Pavilion Oct 20, 2017
One of the major highlights is that we have booked the Living Seas Pavilion at the Epcot. A Salon behind the scenes. The windows of this posh space looks onto the aquarium. You never know what may swim on by.
We will be meeting on the Terrace in Tomorrowland. A view over top of the park with Cinderella’s Castle near by. An exclusive pavilion at Animal Kingdom.
Our event at the Living Seas Pavilion provides a meal to all VIP Guests. The access to the Salon is VIP Access Only. So only our participants will be allowed inside due to room restrictions.
We head back to the Caribbean in Fall 2017. Our first adventure, we will be leaving Walt Disney World and heading directly to the ship. We have chosen Carnival Magic. Carnival is one of the cheapest cruises out there. Having been on Celebrity and Princess just before this, we have gone back to Carnival to be affordable to those who can swing a holiday.
We have two different programs on board for our Caribbean Cruises. We have about 25% of our cruisers that do a back to back cruise. Back to Back cruisers stay on board with us and go for a second journey. It just makes sense, you are already down in Florida, you might as well stay an extra week.
First cruise goes to Eastern Caribbean with 4 stops and the second cruise goes to the Western Caribbean to 4 other stops.
Would you like to come?
You are formally invited. You can do Disney, just do a cruise… do a couple cruises or do the whole kit and caboodle. We have space for 100 crocheters per cruise ship. Back to back is only an option when there is space available on both cruise ships.
For Walt Disney, we have limited spaces within the Pavilions we are renting.
All bookings are first come, first serve.
