Karen has been pushing me to do winter sets like this and really trying to get me to design crochet leg warmers. I've never done that before. Fear of trying something new and understanding the stitchwork for multipurpose things like this slows me down.
I have a personal policy not to download another designer's work and alter the information to suit my purposes. Part of the design is to understand the flexibility of the stitches and get the sizing right. Both the leg warmers and headband shown below were made by ripping out stitches to get the sizing perfect.

Design Process and Intention
With Bernat Symphony yarn, which is a roving-like yarn that transitions in colour, I knew the colour would keep me interested in making these, but I recognized the stitchwork would have incredible definition as well. While it wasn't truly my intention to make the infinity cowl or headband, as I was just going to do leg warmers, I required a second ball of Bernat Symphony and only used a few yards. It would mean that, to a consumer, there would be a lot of wasted yarn.
It would mean I would get hit with negative comments about how much yarn is left, and asking what to do with it. So I figured, I'd better come up with something to avoid this first-world catastrophe.

Each of the three patterns was written separately in case you don't want one or more of the other patterns. You can download what you need. Why not get all three at once?
Crochet Leg Warmers + Tutorial
The Crochet Leg Warmers use a stitch sampler concept, as I tend to get bored with the same stitches for extended periods.

Inside the cuffs begin at the top of the calves with ribbing, transitioning to the crochet trinity stitch. Moving on to the crochet camel stitch and finishing off with a rib stitch for a cohesive look.
You may not have calves or the distance like me, I give you instructions for changing the sizing and each stitch sampler section can be changed in how many rounds you do it before going on. You decide.
I didn't have issues with the warmers slipping down because of my attention to the design concept and my understanding of the stitchwork.
I had to break open a second ball to finish off the second pair, using only a few yards from it, leaving nearly a full ball left. So I moved on in design to the Crochet Infinity Cowl next.

Crochet Infinity Cowl
The Crochet Sampler Infinity Cowl was next up, and truthfully, I love to make them. I opted to keep the camel stitch and trinity stitch from the leg warmers to incorporate them into this one. This grows really quickly, and adding in the ribbing would have been too big.

I have given you options in case you don't want the infinity twist to your cowl, but I prefer it, so it can tuck in a folded nature inside my jacket. Ultimately, you have to decide what you prefer.

Crochet Headband
I still had yarn left from the second ball of the Bernat Symphony, and wasting yarn in today's economy is not great. I looked at the stitch sampler and decided to just run with the crochet camel stitch for the Crochet Headband.

I tried a few times to get the sizing right and nailed it with the 55 starting chains. Together with the cowl and leg warmers, it finished off the entire set using just two balls of Bernat Symphony.
