Crochet Study of Blanket Series

The Study of Crochet Sampler Blankets, designed by Mikey, came to fruition in 2013 when he freeformed a blanket using Bernat Mosaic Yarn. Unbeknownst to him then, the yarn was already slated for discontinuation. The 2013 Crochet Sampler is here to look at.

The blanket had a warp to it, and some free-forming had to be created. In 2016, Mikey decided to put the sample out and try to recreate it, but failed, as there was too much free-forming. By 2016, Mikey had learned how to design better and understand stitch tension and texture.

It was the foundation for the very first stitch sampler known as the Study of Texture Blanket. It was Mikey's first-ever design, and, hooked on the process, it evolved into Mikey's (Michael Sellick's) signature series. It takes about 170 hours on average to conceptualize, design, draw diagrams, and create prototypes for testing.
