In ancient times, the word arcade represented a passageway of arches. This stitch creates arches. In time, the passageway of arches usually consisted of shopping and amusements. It became the term for going to the arcade.
In modern times, we refer to arcades as amusements of gaming. This is the crochet arcade stitch.
Once the pattern is established, it's just repeating 4 rows.
Any size hook and yarn can be used as long as they complement each other.
