Do you have way too much yarn on your hands and end up with partial balls? I know myself, I end up with a lot of partially deflated Bernat Blanket balls where I really cannot use them for much else, as the colours don't always pair together, or I don't have enough of the colour to make anything substantial with it.
I decided to take what I have for deflated yarn balls and make this Bernat Blanket Tail Ends Blanket pattern. The placement of the colours is truly random, but there is some strategy involved, so I don't end up with an OCD nightmare. I explain more in the tutorial.

Instructions
If you prefer another way of doing granny squares, by all means, do it the way you prefer.
Notes
- Ch 3 at the beginning of the round counts as double crochet.
Carrying Colour to Next Round
- The final join will be Ch 1, half double crochet to the top of the beginning ch-3.
- The next round will begin with ch 3 and use the post of the half double crochet as a ch-3 sp.
Ending a Colour At The End of A Round
- The ending of a round will be ch 3, join with sl st to the top of the beg ch-3.
- If starting a new round, join new yarn with a slip stitch and ch 3 to begin.
