The Crochet Chunky Pom Pom Cat Ears Hat uses Bernat Future Inspire yarn in the colour called Acidic Moss. Just one ball and you have a brand new hat.

The pattern is a flat-rectangle panel folded with single crochet along the sides. The downloadable pattern includes additional visuals you may need to follow the instructions from start to finish.

    Yarn Details

    Bernat Future Inspire. 170 g / 6 oz, 99 meters / 108 yards

    • A - Acidic Moss - 1 Ball

    Hook: 8 mm / L/11

    Gauge: 8 sc and 9 rows = 4” [10 cm]

    Size: Average Adult

2 pom-poms are required, and one is attached at each fold point at the top of the hat.

    Abbreviations

    • Beg = Begin(ning)
    • BLO = Back Loop Only
    • Ch(s) = Chain(s)
    • Rep = Repeat
    • RS = Right Side
    • Sl t = Slip Stitch
    • St(s) = Stitch(es)

    Instructions

    • If you are changing the size, the stitch multiple is 2 chains + 1.

    Ch 43.

1st row: RS.  1 sl st 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in next ch. *1 sl st in next ch, 1 sc in next ch. Rep from * across. Turn. 42 sts.

2nd row: 1 sl st in first sc. 1 sc in next sl st. *1 sl st in next sc, 1 sc in next sl st. Rep from * across. Turn. 42 sts.

Rep 2nd row until 26 rows are complete. Fasten off.

The hat is deceptive in its stretch to your head due to the stitching. It will seem small, but once it’s attached to the sides, it will work out.

You may not want to weave in your ends before your test, so you can either add more rows if it's too tight or subtract some if the fit is too loose.

You will end up with a flat panel that is 17.5” long (larger size) x 8” wide, unstretched.

Single crochet up each side of the hat once it's folded.

Where did you get your poms? I made this before you added poms with my own, and love yours
