Since 2014, The Crochet Crowd has been hosting crochet cruises on board various cruise ships. Swarovski Elements presented an idea to expand teaching to retreats on board cruise ships. From a simple conversation in 2011 and years of planning, we set sail in Spring 2014 with no experience.
We learned in real time what we needed for the future.
We are in the research and planning stages of setting up Crochet Cruise Transatlantic. Travelling from the United States and going across the ocean. We have some goals in mind, such as possibly stopping in Bermuda, Greenland, Iceland, the British Isles and other Mediterranean places.
From there, you can fly home or continue on your way to explore more when you arrive. It's significantly easier for us to put yarn onto a ship in the United States than it is to start overseas and come back home.

The form has some questions for you to fill in. We are going to review those answers. The submissions will be time-stamped, and emails will go out in the order in which they are received.
By requesting notification, you are not obligated to attend. We are not collecting your email for any other purpose, and it will not be added to any other lists we have.
Our classes are about 90 minutes long. We host parties in addition to the educational component. We also have breakfast club, afternoon tea meet-ups, and martini bar socials in the evenings. We may be carrying yarn, but we are definitely there for a great time with new memories to carry us forward.
You can bring non-crocheters with you, as the classes are only 90 minutes long. They are welcome to show up to our other activities; in fact, we encourage it as they are part of you.
We are going to review different cruise lines and look at available spaces to host our party on board. Speaking personally, I prefer Celebrity Cruises for the level of service and the expectations we have for them as a group.

I currently make mostly items to donate - Project Linus, various charities in my area

I've never been on a cruise bc of budget issues, except for when I took one around Hawaii, AGES ago! I actually worked x a cruise company that owned 3 cruise ships. A cruise was free for every yr that you worked x them. I got 2 cruises. 😍 Anyways, since I've not even wished to go on a crochet cruise bc it seemed impossible. But your idea of crossing the pond on the basis of hooking?! The answer is YES. Have you thought of a trip to the British Isles where crochet is a way of life? I'm thinking Wales, Scotland, & possibly Ireland? It's been an oven recently, but we'd have the ship as a retreat from the heat, right? 👍🏻
