The basket is double stranded to create a marled look for yarn. The video below shows you how I use the outside of the cake and inside at the same time to double strand my project.

This project is inspired by the Marled Basket using Caron Big Cakes. Instead of creating a rotational stepping look, I was inspired by the bead stitch and clusters to create the look. The basket is 11″ x 5.5″ tall.

I blocked my basket and sprayed it was starch for finishing touches. It’s now great for a coffee table accessory or storage container that is handmade by you.

Tips for Using 2 Strands on Same Yarn Ball

Mikey, aka Michael Sellick, of The Crochet Crowd, started this online journey back in 2008. A mere hobby in trying to reach out to others as he was mentally struggling with his own issues. His goal was simple, find others in the yarn communities, like him, that have a common interest.

The journey and main baby of the whole idea started with a YouTube Channel and then in 2011, an official website was developed. Michael is not only the face of The Crochet Crowd but also the working engine behind the crowd in self-taught programming, social media and so much more.

Enjoy the stitching journey. Life is short, enjoy this wonderful hobby and all of the learning opportunities that come with it.

I’m quite confused… the photo only has one row of bead stitch but the instructions have two rows of bead stitch. What am I missing? Thanks!

Thank you for the Fancy Crochet Basket pattern. Mine will not be as pretty because my Michaels does not have the new yarn in. I look forward to trying it and the yarn that I will use. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into keeping the Crochet Crowd web site up and going.
