Crochet Flame Stitch Tote Bag Pattern

I had this wacky idea to pull out my Red Heart Super Saver Craft Kit and riffle through the bright-coloured version to make this bag. Is it a success? My brain tells me that it was an epic failure to launch. Yes, it's ugly as 'homemade sin'.

I rifled through my kit to make the striping look random, and maybe it's too random? I'm my own worst critic. I should have kept the colour more consistent.

This is the Crochet Flame Stitch Bag pattern.

The kit has 12 colours, and I thought, what could go wrong? Umm... Okay... The picture speaks for itself.

I chose this pattern to try based on the similar stitching used in the Crochet Summer Mist Throw Pattern. I mean, what could go wrong, eh! A tutorial is available for the blanket version.

My execution of the bag falls into the category, "what not to crochet" or maybe "just cause I can crochet, doesn't mean I should have made it!"

You decide. You can say it's ugly; I know it is. I took much longer to make this bag, as I was hating it, but decided to finish it anyway, but it was a painful process to crochet something I didn't love.
