The Crochet Belt Stitch is technically a hybrid of crochet and Tunisian crochet. With 100% cotton yarn like Lily Sugar'n Cream, it would be much stronger as well.
In This Project
As you will see in the video demonstration, you can do the stitch in any width you need; your hook size depends on the width.
My biggest tip is to be patient with yourself, as getting used to this technique may take a few minutes for how you are holding and shoving your hook across the row.

On camera, I am using Caron Tiramisu Cakes that have some stretch. The yarn coloring in this concept is really cool.
This video also focuses on how to end this stitch at the end of the project. So I will not leave you hanging on how it should be finished.
