I decided to get my hands on three new yarns by Yarnspirations.

The only way to really try a new yarn is to get it. I decided to pick up one of each colour of Caron All Day Wool and take a peek at the colours, thickness, feel, and longevity of the yarn.

The Caron All Day Wool has a heathered appearance in some colours, which I tend to lean towards, as it looks more cottage-core to me. With some of the yarn containing streams of colour, the hardest part is deciding what to do with it. How can I showcase it to the very best in a project?

    Thickness Captures Me

The Super Bulky Weight level of the yarn is very appealing to me. It means projects will stitch us much faster while keeping their stitch definition appealing too.

The feel of the yarn reminds me a lot of our Newfoundland Sweaters. It feels durable and rugged, holding up against everyday wear. With 20% wool and 80% acrylic, the yarn will retain its warmth, but not to the level of wool, which makes it unaffordable for most.

Being only 20% wool, the project won't felt if washing. Unfortunately, there's no pattern for these sweaters, but they're among the best investments I have in clothing. I do have a pattern for the sock beanie crochet hats, though.

    Yarn Ball Sizing

The yarn is 5 oz / 140 grams and 80 yards / 73 meters. Truth be told, I think the investment in a larger project wearable may be worth it, but I wouldn't crochet a blanket with this, as it may be unaffordable, but probably the best blanket you may ever own. You would probably need a warehouse case of the yarn if you were doing something significant. For the cowls you see above, most of the balls were used for each of them.

What is Compelling Me The Most

What's selling me the most about this yarn is the colours and durability elements, to be honest with you. I think most of the colours can work well together. It may depend on your personal taste as well.

I don't find this itchy or scratchy. It doesn't make my skin react like sawdust or wood shavings. It slides on a crochet hook without tension and is easy to use, even with colour playing with fair isle concepts.

I would highly recommend this yarn. As someone said to me, in Hawaii, they may not need this level of yarn due to the heat. For sure, in northern climates like Canada, I feel it's a winner and something I can use as temperatures dip with winter settling in.

I need to test the other two yarns and review the colours shortly.
