How To Become A Tester with Mikey, The Crochet Crowd

The request to become a tester for The Crochet Crowd, aka Mikey himself, is a common question. It's not a paid role but more of an opportunity to help, learn, and be part of something that eventually reaches the public either as a paid or free pattern. The size of the pattern and work level involved in making the design factor in if it's paid or not.

This experience is part of the Journey Membership on YouTube. This membership level doesn't require you to pattern test, but it gives you early access to materials.

What is A Journey Membership?

Journey Member is one of three levels on YouTube that allow crocheters to support The Crochet Crowd's operations. There are three levels of memberships:

• Level 1 - Cup of Tea for Mikey. It's a small monthly contribution that covers a couple of teas for Mikey to keep going.
• Level 2 - Stitchers Passport Membership. It's a bit more, with extra perks like being notified of booking events and receiving communications about inside information.
• Level 3 - Journey Membership. It's the highest level, with early access to all tutorials that are in queue mode for release to the general public at a later time. Notifications of events and insider information. Opinions are sometimes asked of this level. Your notifications. On YouTube, notifications will go off much more often, as Mikey works in batches of videos. This level of membership provides access to the documents ahead of time to work through problems, solve problems, and test patterns. Communications are directly between the tester and Mikey when a test is in progress.

You will see people release full projects within a day or so after the project goes public. They are from the Journey Membership Level, which has early access to materials and tutorials, and/or were part of the testing.
