Crochet Cruisers and your guests are being assigned pre-cruise homework to go with our theme. We are asking you to make a gondola scarf, an ascot or a wrap prior to joining us in Europe.
Our theme is an homage to the gondoliers. Part of your adventure, if you are joining us for the Venice Excursion, is riding the gondolas. You will wear this during one or more activities on the tour.
It will be cooling off, so you may want to double this idea as a warmable thing to wear. Average temperature during our tour will be about 11 to 18 degrees celcius or 52 to 64 degrees Fahrenheit.
Goals
- Use any yarn you wish.
- Any pattern or self-design that strikes your fancy.
- Decide if you are wearing an ascot, scarf, or wrap.
- Theme colour it to something that matches Venice. When choosing the colours of the gondoliers' shirts, you could go with white and navy, red and navy, or a solid colour. The world is your oyster. Let Venice be your colour guide for home colours, architecture or something.
- You may want to think about design, as you will be able to wear it again on the Royal Caribbean Ship later on in the tour.
The globetrotter wrap below is elegant and was a stitch along in 2016. It's just an idea, as you are the artist and can decide what is best for you.
Be as simple or as complex as you like; we crocheters love to oggle stitchwork, so be prepared with questions if people are obsessed with your wearable.
