Red Island Fibre in Prince Edward Island did a custom dye job for our land adventure in 2026. To my surprise, she figured out my favorite go-to colors, which are the ones I use most in my samples when I am designing.
Mandy, owner of Red Island Fiber, searched online to locate my colors. I have been programming AI over the past 6 months to give it a lot of details about my yarn choices. What she didn't know, I had inputted a slew of my designs and asked it what the most common colors I use are. It must have pulled those details to share with her.
As much as I don't really enjoy the orange tones, I use it a lot to accent the stitches along as I can handle the pops of color that it gives. It's the most common accent color I use.
Mandy came onto our tour bus before we got off to introduce this new yarn. I had no idea about this in advance. She thought she would surprise us.
Not only did we buy her out of stopping at the farm, but she also had more in process at home; she pre-sold the rest and brought it to the hotel for guests to pick up.
Never before has this been done for The Crochet Crowd. We are going to ask Jonathan from the Yarn Dragon to do a custom dye job for us for the Hawaii Crochet Cruise, but it's not something we're going to say publicly... We haven't asked him yet... Guess the cat's out of the bag. Don't get excited yet; we don't have a commitment if this is the reason you book the cruise. 😀
We had a dyer in Scotland, For the Love of Yarn, who wanted to do the same thing and mentioned it many months ago, but I thought, who's going to want my custom-dyed yarn?
Dyers seem to know something I don't. After 18 years of being in the business, I still see myself as the boy from the village.
I was so surprised by this development. Seeing my colors all within a hank, with a stabilized hand-dyed purple as an accent, was a chef's kiss.
A whole new, but limited-size batch, will be done in the near future and sold directly by Red Island Fiber. I believe in supporting local and will not be taking commissions on this.

115 grams in worsted format. 210 yards / 192 metres. Hand wash in cold water and lay flat to to dry.

A mix of my favorite colors in the blues, oranges, and purples. Complimentary coloring to the Elephant Farts.

Special Request
I have asked Mandy if the colors I love can be a custom dye job in solids so the crocheter/knitter can control the color. She's taking the idea into consideration. I can see a 4-pack of this.
Mandy is just a small dyer and will run a small batch that is within her scope of work. I suspect that if you can get your hands on this, it will be like winning the lottery.
