Top 3 Chosen Channels
To our surprise we were contacted by Canada AM part of CTV for an on camera interview for September 2014.
For our international friends outside of Canada, Canada AM is our national broadcast across Canada each morning. It is the equivalent to Good Morning America.
The odds of getting to our level on YouTube is a 0.5%. It’s triumph to break the barrier to get yourself established with content that is value added and well viewed. The Crochet Crowd is viewed between 800,000 – 2 million views each month. For someone like me, who in the beginning two years didn’t have backing from any media outlets or sponsors. Minimal sponsorship for the next 2 years before being taken seriously. In 2012, we broke the barrier wide open with being selected the Top YouTube Channel for July for the On The Rise Program. We were featured on the home page of YouTube for 24 hours. It impacted us overnight. For many, we snuck under the radar for a very long time.
As our Cathy can attest to, monitoring our YouTube and video creation is extremely time consuming. It’s what established us before Facebook.
Today, The Crochet Crowd is a media outlet to ourselves. We have the ability to plan ideas, build campaigns, produce videos and fully market ourselves giving crocheters inspiration and help along the way. The strength we have is that we don’t abandon our crocheters during the process. We take time to celebrate the triumphs of our followers and give the everyday crochet the power to be featured.
In 2013, I had an interview with the publicist of Google Canada to determine our story. I would like to thank Google Canada, Wendy, for the opportunity of connecting us with Canada AM.
This Tuesday, they are coming here to film a behind the scenes perspective. There are three channels being featured. It’s been determined we are one of the best YouTube Channels of Canada.
Three stories will run over the next few weeks, one will be ours. In October, we are going to the TV Studio to sit with the morning hosts for a follow up live interview with the other two channels to openly discuss YouTube.
I would like to thank our audience for tuning in and being part of our journey. Thank you for your trust in referrals for our YouTube Videos and Inspirational Facebook Page.
