We are floating yarn communities where crocheters, knitters, friends, partners, and travel companions come together for the kind of creative experience you can’t recreate at home. You’ll learn, stitch, laugh, join themed events, make new friends, and share those unforgettable “you had to be there” moments at sea.
It’s part vacation, part yarn retreat, part community gathering, and part “I’m so glad I didn’t miss this.” 🧶🚢
We also host land retreats where you can bring your non-crocheting friends, too. Explore the world, one stitch at a time, and create new memories.
These are focused on everyday people, not the elite of passengers or skill sets.

We offer a vacation environment where we bring the entertainment with us. With our group sharing a common interest and spanning all skill levels, we are the party not to be missed. It cuts the small chit-chat and can create long-term friendships. With a return rate of up to 60% among past guests, it can be harder to secure a workshop position.
In This Project
What to Expect - Learning, Yarn, Party(ies) and Swag

- All Workshop / Stitch Socials (90 Minutes). Number depends on the length of the event and free time between other things like cruise stops.
- Private Parties. Usually themed and announced early to make items or prepare to bring things with you for the themes.
- Custom Cruise Workbook - Patterns and more that will be covered during the cruise.
- Yarn and Other Things. We bring the yarn and other things like stuffing if we are doing amigurumi.
- Custom Lanyard - For VIP Entrance to Events for you and your non-crocheting guests.
- Event Dedicated T-Shirts - Land and Cruise Events
- Swag: May include a yarn tote and other goodies.

Communications with The Groups
Each group has its own dedicated, private, and hidden Facebook Group.
- Group members share stories, pictures and more.
- Members are added to the group as they book. Should someone cancel, they are immediately removed from the group as they will not need real-time updates.
- The group is used for real-time communications throughout the event.
- Updates regarding buses, hotel and more are discussed in the group.
- WIFI is imperative to have access to it at all times, as you could be in the dark without knowing what is going on in real-time.
Mikey is Off the Cuff

One of Mikey’s superpowers is recognizing when people are craving community, especially when that connection may be missing at home. His events are designed to be a safe, welcoming place where adults can express their creativity, show up as themselves, make new friends, and pick up fresh ideas along the way.
Mikey’s events are adult-only because adults deserve their own space to relax, laugh, share real-life stories, and connect without having to filter every word for young ears. The atmosphere is casual, unscripted, and genuinely human.
After spending half his life in the closet, Mikey now shows up fully as himself: open, honest, playful, and real. His humour was shaped by a family where innuendo and adult wit were part of everyday life, and that has naturally become part of his hosting style. The result is an event experience that feels warm, cheeky, creative, and safe for adults who want to belong without having to shrink themselves.
This environment is not for you if you are expecting him to be scripted, power-pointing or maintaining a PG rating.
Community Expectations

Mikey makes a thoughtful effort to help people mingle at his events. Friends are absolutely welcome to come together, but the experience is designed so everyone has opportunities to sit in different places, meet new people, and discover that not everyone is drawn to the same projects, colours, stitches, or creative style. Individuality is encouraged, and crochet is one way people express who they are.
At times, the room may be gently mixed up by group size, badge colour, seating changes, or simply by creating moments where people are invited to connect with someone new. This helps quieter guests find fresh conversations without having to force their way in, while more outgoing guests have the chance to welcome others to the table.
The learning also does not revolve around Mikey being the only person with knowledge in the room. At different moments, you may be the learner, the encourager, the table helper, or the person with the clever tip someone else needed. Everyone brings something to the experience, and the magic happens when people share what they know.

We don't force people to separate from their friends if they are against it. It's your holiday, but getting to know new people sometimes is the story itself at the end of a cruise.
Mikey’s events are also not religious gatherings. There are no moments of prayer, religious favouritism, or expectations around faith. The focus is creativity, community, laughter, and belonging, where adults can feel comfortable being themselves without having to fit into someone else’s mould.
Cost of Events

Our events are professionally organized in partnership with a certified travel agency. Their role is to help make your journey as smooth as possible, from planning your trip to getting you safely home again. They coordinate directly with our vendors, including cruise lines, hotels, transportation providers, and event venues, so your experience comes together seamlessly.
Planning one of our events is much like organizing a large destination wedding. Event space, private meeting rooms, instructors, activities, and other services are reserved well in advance based on the number of registered guests. Every reservation contributes to those final commitments with our vendors.
For this reason, you must reserve your trip through our designated travel agency to participate in our organized activities. Reservations made independently with a cruise line, hotel, or other supplier cannot be added to our group, and we will not be able to include you in workshops, stitch sessions, themed events, or other exclusive group experiences.

Before we announce any cruise or event, pricing and group arrangements are negotiated with our travel partners and vendors. As you budget for your adventure, remember to consider additional travel expenses such as airfare, pre-cruise or pre-event hotel stays, travel insurance, meals outside the event, and personal spending money.
Travel arrangements will vary depending on where you live. While many guests choose to fly, others may be close enough to drive or use other forms of transportation. Before reserving your spot, we encourage you to research and budget for all of your anticipated travel expenses.
Our travel agency offers flexible payment plans to help make planning your trip more manageable. We also strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel and flight insurance to protect your investment should unexpected circumstances affect your plans.
With the decision on the location, such as a cruise ship or land retreat, length of event and more. The pricing can vary.

Picking Your Travel Level - Booking Early Benefits
Everyone has different travel preferences and budgets, so we don't require all guests to book the same type of accommodation. Depending on availability, our travel agency reserves a range of options, from the most economical cabins or rooms to premium suites, allowing you to choose what best suits your needs.
Your choice of accommodation will affect the overall cost of your trip. We encourage booking as early as possible, as the most popular cabin and room categories often sell out first. Once a category is full, it may not become available again, or it may only be offered at a higher price. Like airline tickets, cruise fares and hotel rates can increase as the event date approaches.
Price changes after our event is announced are determined by our travel partners and vendors and are beyond our control. Booking early often provides the best selection and pricing.
From time to time, special promotions may also be available for a limited period. These can include complimentary beverage packages, Wi-Fi, onboard credit, specialty dining, and other travel perks. Since these promotions are determined by our vendors, they may change or expire without notice.

Susan says
These crochet cruises and vacations have been some of the best vacations of my life. Everyone is so kind, and there is all kinds of new crochet skills to learn! If you are on the fence about booking one of these, I would tell you to do it--you will have an incredible time!
