A new video stitch-along, with an early pattern release, is called Granny Goes Random Crochet Blanket. Yes, you can work on this anytime, and no sign-up is required, but the videos will be released as a stitch-along over the Christmas break in 2024.
Yarn for the Stitch Along

What excites me the most is that you only use two colour balls. One is Sunset Beach (3 balls needed), and the other is Moonbeam (2 balls required). Yes, all of those colours are in just those two colorway balls. This yarn is called Red Heart Bitty Stripes.

The videos will be rolled out on a timed basis to give crocheters time to complete sections.
Picture below is version 1. Tutorial is focused on version 2.

I love this pattern and made a full sized one. I am now working on using this pattern to make a baby/toddler sized blanket. I just did the granny squares with 4 rounds. Since they are 9 rounds in the bigger size, should I do 5 rounds for each one instead? Thanks for any help you can provide.
Mikey says
I would make a sample size square that you want to try and then do the math to see how many squares you will need to do that. It's a great idea.

I loved waiting for the yarn to change and noticing how similar some blocks were. Generally I won't use a pattern involving cutting the yarn every row, but I was hooked by the look. Actually this time all the tails didn't bother me at all. The afghan even got great compliments from my husband!

Another fantastic Mikey creation. Love the videos with clear instructions and Mikey's warm voice. Looking forward to working with this beautiful colour way. All the best for 2025

I can not find the tutorial from week 4.
Mikey says
I have added it to the article and is also on YouTube as well.

I'm starting my squares 1/2/2025! The written pattern calls "...work all Squares at same time. With A work 1st and 2nd rnds/rows for each Square (18 Full, 10 Half, 4 Quarter) before continuing with B. With B, work 3rd and 4th rnds/rows for each Square... before continuing with A. Continue working in the manner to complete all Squares..." I get that the tutorial would be lengthy to show all this. Is that why you are working a full Square in the Week 1?
Mikey says
Yes, it's just to showcase the stitch work. Truth for me would be I would make a full square and then move on. I would ignore that type of instruction if you weren't watching me. For simplicity, I filmed it with each motif being in a week.

Is this the only Boxing Day SAL? I thought there was going to be one using Caron One Pound yarn.
BTW ... I love your SALs!
Wendy Maruna says
We will be hosting two stitch alongs starting Boxing Day.
This is one and the other is Jeanne’s design Inspired by Grace which is the Caron One Pound one.
It’s going to be so much fun ?

I am absolutely in love with this throw! I love everything about it. My goal for 2025 is to learn how to sew granny squares together.
Is there a way to make this bigger?
Does this happen to have any videos?

I’ve been with the crochet crowd, I think 12 yrs(?) or longer. I’ve watched you grow. You and your crowd are fabulous!!???

Granny Goes Random will be a stitch along starting end of December. You can make it as big as you need them it. You don't need to stop where we are going to.
