The Purple Peacock, a retail and non-profit organization in downtown Kentville, Nova Scotia, was devastated by a fire in September 2024. The Purple Peacock provided food for free to people who needed a helping hand, including the homeless.
You can see more about it on their Instagram as well. While they had insurance and could rebuild, their donations, which benefited families and individuals in the region, went up in smoke.
Tanya and her friend Michelle spearheaded the concept of putting together a crafts show on the fly, scheduled for November 9th, 2024, at the Kentville Fire Hall from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The entrance fee is $2.
Several members of our local stitching group, Stitchers in the Valley, are helping with this initiative.
The show is designed to help Purple Peacock.
To buy a table to display your crafting goods, contact Tanya at 902-538-4303. All proceeds benefit the Valley Connect Outreach that Purple Peacock is part of. Over 20 vendors are expected. Space for this impromptu craft show has been donated.
The community is coming together. There may be a further update on what The Purple Peacock is looking for donations to restock, such as clothing and more.

PS. Tickets for this craft show won't be available online, so if a scammer is trying to sell tickets on social media, just ignore it.
You will see they continue serving the community if you review their Facebook.
