Crochet Mini Scalloped Edge Basket Pattern
I have crocheted a mini basket, perfect size for those candy-filled plastic eggs. You can use up your scrap yarns and come up with a rainbow of pretty colors to decorate your Easter table.
- Small amounts of worsted weight yarn
- Crochet hook size 5.0mm H
- Yarn needle
Start with Magic Circle. (video below)
Round 1 - Ch 2, crochet 12 hdc into the MC; tighten circle, skip over ch 2 and slst to first hdc.
Round 2 - Ch 2, crochet 2 hdc in each hdc around; slst to first hdc. (24 hdc)
Round 3 - Ch 2, crochet 1 hdc into the back loop only (BLO) of each stitch around; join to first hdc.
Round 4-6 - Ch 2, crochet 1 hdc in each stitch around; join to first hdc. Finish off after round 6.
Scalloped Edge - Join contrast color with sc in any stitch; *hdc, dc, hdc all in next stitch, sc in next stitch; repeat from * around; slst to first sc to join. Finish off.
Handle - With first color, leave a long tail, chain 25, finish off leaving another long tail. With contrast color, leave long tail and slst in each ch across; finish off and leave long tail.
Using the long tails and yarn needle, attach the handle to the top of the basket. Weave in all loose ends.
