Crochet A Dusting Mitt
I must say that Spring Cleaning is not my thing. My retired husband does a pretty good job at keeping the house clean most of time, but the one thing he doesn't like to do is to dust the furniture. When Mikey and Diva Dan challenged me to crochet up with something cleaning related, the idea of a dusting mitt was the first thing I thought of making. This is the Crochet Dusting Mitt pattern.
Spring Cleaning is Here
- Lily Sugar 'n Cream Cotton yarn - mix and match your colors for a fun piece
- Hook Size 5.5mm I
- Hook Size 5.0mm H
Round 1 - With bigger hook, chain 16; sc in second chain from the hook and each ch across (15 sc); do not turn, but work in the other side of the chain SC across for a total of 30 sc. Do not join.
Work sc in continuous rounds until the piece measures 6 ½ inches long.
Scalloped Edge - Round 1 - Mark you starting point sc *Skip 2 sc, 5 dc in next sc, skip 2 sc, sc in next sc, repeat from * around and join with slip stitch to marked stitch.
Round 2 - Ch 3, 2 dc in same join as ch 3, *skip 2 dc, sc in next dc, skip 2 dc, 5 dc in sc, repeat from * around to beginning and add 2 dc to beginning 3 dc to finish the scallop. Slip stitch to beginning ch 3. Finish off and weave in end.
Dusting Fringe - Cut yarn into 5 inch pieces. I wrapped the yarn around my four fingers several times and snipped them in half and that was about 5 inches for me. Don't worry if they are not exact. Then using the smaller hook, work in rows looping each fringe piece around a single crochet post.
All set for the dusting chores!

So have you used them and washed them do first pick up the dust and send wash up nice and are reusable? Will they make nice gifts for a house warming?
Thanks
