Through Jimmy Beans Wool, Della Q and The Crochet Crowd teamed up to make an official Crochet Crowd Makers' Backpack for fall 2024. Mikey was never fascinated with bags or purses until this bag came along. I'm 51 years old and tired of buying cheap crap that falls apart, rips and is so inexpensive we dismiss it as affordable. I wanted to work with Jimmy Beans Wool to provide an elevated, high-end experience for yarn lovers like you, with a bag designed and produced with years in mind.
The bag dimensions are as follows:
14"(L) x 4.5"(W) x 18"(H). The bag is 2 lbs when empty.
Care Instructions:
Do not machine wash, do not expose to hot water, and do not use harsh cleaning ingredients. Use a soft-bristled brush to lightly scrub away any debris. Rub lightly in a circular motion to redistribute wax over unwanted scratches. Use only cold water and a mild detergent when needed.

Over the years, Jimmy Beans Wool has been eager to collaborate on making something special for The Crochet Crowd, and the opportunity came. A small limited quantity of these bags has been made.
We are introducing the Ocean colour of the Della Q Makers' Backpack, which matches our logo. You may think this is ridiculous, but what is important to me is having the bag personally meant for me as I travel.
Karen, my friend at home, coordinated with Jimmy Beans Wool to get a bag identifier to match the bags' aesthetics. Instead of stabbing the pins through the waxed canvas of the bag's exterior, the identifier will hold the pins. If you want to remove it, you can, if you want to blend in. The identifier can also transfer over to the mobility bag version. It's only provided with the backpack itself.
The interior has oodles of pockets, including padded pockets for laptops and tablets. One pocket has a zipper closure. The interior also has a built-in yarn cutter and yarn feeder. I keep my electronic cords in the pocket near the top of the bag so I can easily get to it when flying in a plane.
The exterior has two pockets that can hold liquid bottles such as water. Karen uses a water bottle with a clip that can clip onto the handle hardware higher up in the bag so it's not dragging below the bag as you carry it.
The exterior has magnetic clasps that will open up to provide additional storage, such as a rolled-up coat, sweater or even a tiny, thin lap blanket.
The straps are adjustable with strong hardware. Nothing on the back snags onto my clothing as I put it on and off. The back has an additional leather strip that opens up to slide it over the luggage handles for luggage with extended handles as you wheel it around.
The bottom has metal mixed into the solid bag to allow the bag to sit up if you balance your content. I sit in the airport lounge with the bag between my legs.
The exterior also has the signature Della Q stitch marker holder. The stitch markers we provided can go onto this clip and match the bag's look.
This bag is designed with longevity, durability, and practical styling to last for years. Its sister bag is the Crochet Crowd Mobility Bag. The same design considerations in the same colour called Ocean.
Anne Furtado says
Just ordered mine today. I have so many back packs but only used them a couple of times because the shoulder straps that come across the front are to wide and they end up hurting after a short while. These straps look very comfortable. The quality and durability shows in the pics and the description. This is the one I will get many years out of using and the others will be given away.

I would love to have one. I am retired and I need something like this I can carry without losing any hooks or yarn. How do I get one?

There is a greenish yellow button that says “buy here” that will take you to the preorder page.
They are expected to ship out in December
