Exclusive only to Yarnspirations is Bernat All In One Granny yarn that launched in late December 2024. In today's economy, crocheters cannot afford to waste, and this yarn checks all the boxes to cut down on the amount of yarn purchased. I'll explain. This material is the infamous Bernat Blanket yarn reformated.
Quick Demonstrations
Mikey has in-depth product reviews and step by step tutorial on those added tips for your success at the bottom of the article.
Crocheters make granny squares, and each of the squares is the same colour; the first couple of colours are usually just small amounts from the balls, whereas rounds three and beyond take more, and by the time you get to the 5th colour and more, you need more balls to finish. Essentially, closer to the centre of the square, you end up having a yarn and, in some cases, a lot of it left over.
This yarn, while it can sound gimmicky as tutorial hosts love to call innovation as this, it cuts down on the balls needed by providing precisely the right amount.
Costs Analysis - Savings
One ball of this yarn can make 4 squares that are 10" x 10" with five colours. Each ball is approximately USD 13.49.
Bernat Blanket solid colour balls are about $13.49 USD each, so to make the 4 squares x 5 balls = $67.45. The first 2 or 3 colours used in a granny square will have substantial yarn left over that you may never use again. You will spend less money on this yarn.
New Crocheters - Opportunities
- This yarn will teach the vital importance of gauge to match the product like designers have in patterns.
- This yarn will prevent excessive waste of colours, which the crocheter may not know what to do with the leftover partial balls.
- Each square will finish with approximately 42" long tail ends that can be used to sew the squares to each other.
Stops the Tails & Convenience
With the crocheter mastering tension, there isn't yarn to cut in between each round. The only tails you will have are the square's starting and ending.
This yarn also encourages you to keep on stitching and not resting in between rounds as the colour lines up.

Notes:
- Motifs begin with Color 1 (shortest color rep) from center of ball, leaving a 4" [10 cm] tail to weave in.
- All color changes occur at end of rnd where colors are spliced together.
- If spliced color change is visible on RS, pull stitches to cover splice or push spliced section back to WS of work.
- If too much color is left at end of rnd, pull back some sts and slightly loosen gauge to re-work sts and finish at color change. If too little color is left, pull back some sts and slightly tighten gauge to re-work sts and finish at color change.
- At end of final rnd Motif should measure 10." [26.5 cm] square. Cut yarn where Color 5 (final color rep) ends, leaving approx 42" [106.5 cm] tail at end of Motif for joining.
- Begin the next Motif with Color 1 and repeat 5 rnds for each Motif.
