Crochet Connect 4 Corner to Corner C2C Stitch

People in warmer climates want lighter options for stitches. Mikey created a stitch for corner to corner that appears to be like a Connect 4 Game.

The stitch is not as compact and is missing two stitches from corner to corner to provide more air. You can see the connection spots.

The tutorial will include square and rectangle versions with a simple border. The yarn shown in the thumbnail is Red Heart Roll With It Melange in the colour of Theater.

Crochet Diagram

The crochet diagram shows you where the stitches go. You can see the edge boxes are the typical corner-to-corner look, but everything between the edge boxes are the Connect 4 Stitches. This blanket of the new concepts I have created is the fastest as you blaze along as each box is missing two double crochet you would typically do.

I won't be writing out the pattern in long form. There will be a tutorial to help you.

Are you looking for other versions of corner-to-corner that are not typically seen? How about this one below? This is the Criss Cross Corner to Corner. It's shown in a full-size blanket. A tutorial and a crochet diagram are included to show you where to go.

    Hello
My girlfriends and I have been stitching up the c2c patterns - the brush stitch and connect four ones. Our regular c2c blankets always turn out square but neither of these patterns do - what are we doing wrong?
    Look forward to your help

I don't understand why they are not turning out square for you. I don't get why that is happening to you. I'm really sorry. I didn't have the same experience.

Fun pattern. Made a blanket using this stitch. 90 blocks by 110 blocks. Used 42 ounces of Red Heart in Cherry Red and 14 ounces of Red Heart in Royal. With a size F hook, the guage was 19 blocks per 12 inches.

Pattern works up quickly and produces a light weight blanket that is perfect for warmer climates and cool spring nights.
