Crochet Glacier Cowl Pattern + Tutorial

Crochet this simple Crochet Glacier Cowl to wear on an excursion to the top of a glacier or better yet, around your own community to keep warm this winter.  This pattern uses only one Caron Cakes.  I made mine with the color Cake Pop.  The colours really did resemble the stunning beauty of the magnificent glacier.  The ribbed texture makes this cowl easy to wear as a long version or double up around your neck to keep you warm and cozy.

I have made several of these...the problem I have is as I am crocheting the begin to twist?? Some not too bad others quite a lot?? What can I do to stop this twisting?? One didn't twist at all. Thanks love the pattern!!

If you are chaining and joining as Mikey shows in the video, you have to be very careful to make sure the chain is not twisted before you join the ends.

Does the chain 3 in second row count as a stitch. If not the sequence of 4 would be off.

It does count as your first dc.

Loving working on this pattern! I wanted to try something new and The Crochet Crowd made it so easy to do something new!! I was wondering, could you colour change within this pattern? - I'm trying to use yarn I have at home as opposed to buying more (trying to save money).

    Thanks for the great pattern!

You sure can! Laura Jean made hers with worsted weight yarn and changed colors about every 3 rows.

Thanks so much for the response! I'm going to do some colour changes, I'm nearly finished my third row, great timing! 🙂
