Lauren LaChant, a contestant on The Circle, has worked with yarn in many side scenes between activities. She's bi-crafted in that she crochets granny squares and finger-knits a blanket on the floor.
While I cannot accurately identify the brand she uses to finger-knit her blanket, it appears to be Bernat Blanket Extra Thick yarn. Reality shows tend to remove or hide product labels when there is no sponsorship or paid advertisement placement. However, to me, a lot of the stuff in the decor and craft baskets with the contestants seems to be from Joann Fabrics and Crafts.

While you see Lauren working on the floor to finger-knit her blanket, it's a reality show where the game show will twist and turn. I would assume she's working on the floor because it's a safe place for her to work on her project. I would also assume that the carpet is helping the yarn stay in position so she can knit.
If you are on a table, I recommend a blanket to lie on the table to prevent the yarn from sliding on a slippery table. I think Lauren is wise to be thinking in that way.
Due to the thickness of the yarn, weaving in yarn, as shown below, is essential for the strands not to come out. You will do this with a thick Bernat Blanket, too.
Latest new yarn by Yarnspirations is the Red Heart All In One Granny Square yarn that changes colour when it should be.
