This pattern works in a continuous circle. We work with back and front posts to achieve this pattern. The basket weave stitch is in groups of 6. There is 3 rows between the basket transition. We need to ensure you are matching the posts properly and we have to ensure when we are grabbing a post by the opposite side that it's on purpose to match the pattern properly. Step 3 is critical for establishing this pattern properly.

It appears I am doing something wrong after step 7 where it requires step 7 be repeated 14 times. I am able to keep the pattern going; however, my hat is not getting any wider, just longer. Would you please advise what I am doing wrong?
Many thanks - Claire

that would be correct after round 6 it stops increasing and you start creating the body of the hat. You were doing it right.
