Green Hand Painted Scarf

These instructions are really simple as this is the combination of only two yarn balls. It's hand painted and fabulous. Approximate cost of this scarf is about $25. The yarn is self striping itself and transitioning on itsown. Do not change the directions as the vertical direction that you will feed onto the machine must be the Liberty Wool due to strength and durability. The Manos Maxima will not work in the vertical direction as the yarn can unply/untwist itself and break.

This can be completed on a 10" or 15" table top Weaving Loom by Schacht. The scarf is 9" wide by 75" long without the tassels. 

Materials:

1 - 10" or 15" Schacht Weaving Loom

1 - Ball of Liberty Wool, Classic Elite Yarn

1 - Hank of Manos del Uruguay - Maxima, Kettle Dyed.

Directions

• Feed Machine (Warp) with the entire ball of Liberty Wool. This will create the width of 5.5". This yarn is used going in the vertical direction and expands the entire length of the scarf. The warp length is 95" from the warping peg to the back beam. 
• Using Manos del Urrguay, weave back and forth for the entire length. You will not use the entire skien
• Remove from loom and tie groups of vertical strings together in an overhand tie knot. 

To maintain transition effect of the yarn, you must take the yarn from the Manos del Uruguay skein, form a smaller ball that you believe will fit onto the stick shuttle. Once you think you have the right amount, wrap the smaller ball of yarn onto the stick shuttle. YOU MUST DO IT THIS WAY. If you wrap transitional type of yarn directly onto the stick shuttle from the yarn ball, it will reverse your yarn transition to be backwards. It will cause your yarn transition to be out of order and your project will not have a soft flowing transition of colours.
