This hat is pretty easy to crochet as you will crochet in the back loops to create the ridges that you see. The one edge is gathered at the top to form the top of the hat.

Using a pompom maker, spare cardboard or even your hands, you can make the pompoms fairly easily. I prefer the pompom makers myself. They are pretty easy to use and create a perfect look.
