The Crochet Baby Cakes Poncho is sized for 6 months, 12- 18 months and 2 - 3 years. The pattern has all three sizes included.
You can learn more about Caron Baby Cakes and New Yarns Released in Spring 2021 here.
The colourful project is crocheted directly out of the ball itself. Meaning, the yarn is doing the work for the colour layout.
The stitch uses is the Houndstooth Stitch which is tight and has some textured applied to it. I believe this is a great cheerful project to enjoy.
Bigger Poncho Sizes
We have bigger sizes with the same stitch combination that the baby version has. You will notice they are Cowl Necks and have sleeves as well. We don't have an adult version with a hood on file.

Good Morning from Saskatchewan!!
I am making these for my granddaughters, but want to make them bigger. I figured multiples of two, but how do I figure out the neck/hood size?? How many stitches on the shoulders and how many do I skip?? I am newer to crochet and need help please!
Thank You!!
Darlene

Darlene. I am really not sure without doing testing trials. I don't have any immediate answers on that. You are right. The multiples are 2. If there is time, just look up human clothing sizes on Google. That gives you dimensions. That will help you with neck holes and stuff. That's what I would do. I'm really short of time to put a few days into research and trials at the moment. I'm sorry.
Darlene W. says
That's OK. I just thought there was some sort of math involved.

Good morning! Still working on the poncho.... I have done the neck hole and working down the back. I've noticed the front and back don't line up. Reading the pattern, you start with 68(67), but going down the back, there's only 63. Is this correct, or have I missed something ??
Darlene W. says
Shouldn't the front stitches match the back? I started with 68 (67). But down the back is 63? Reread the pattern and that's what it said too....

Leave it with me. I will revisit next week.

Greetings from Calgary Alberta! I’m new to crochet so don’t have an answer for you but I did notice that there are two similar patterns for ponchos for older children and adults. Perhaps you might want to check those out? Happy Crocheting!
Mikey says
Yes you are right. But the older versions don't have the hood. Just cowl necks. I believe the You and Me versions are for older toddlers as they match a doll size.

Yeah...I just discovered there’s a video for this now!! I’m off to Michael’s for yarn! Thanks, a new project for me!
Bonnie says
In the video you say to increase every 4th row. Is that to be done all the way up to the height you need or till you reach the required number of stitches for your size?
Thanks
