Crochet Gentle Waves Baby Blanket

When I looked at the colour of this yarn, the first thing I was to remind of was the gentle waves of the ocean.  So I had to crochet this Gentle Waves Baby Blanket to represent the yarn.  I love a soft rippling blanket and this one will be perfect to wrap around a newborn baby.

The Caron Chunky Cakes is a soft 100% acrylic #6 weight yarn.  I only needed 2 Cakes to crochet this 28" x 35" blanket.  The multiple is 8 + 4 if you would like to adjust the size to a bigger afghan. (Pattern updated 1/26/18)

Is the stitch count for row 3 the same as the starting chain? I can't seem to make it match up. I have watched the video many times and I have downloaded the written pattern.

I am having trouble with row 3, so I watched the tutorial. Mikey doesn't follow the written directions for row 3.....in the written form, it says to skip a stitch before and after the 3 sc in the same stitch....he doesn't do that in the video. Which is correct?

Mikey's video is correct because he used my diagram. I have corrected the written pattern. I'm so sorry for the confusion.

Do you have a link for the diagram? I was having trouble making row 4 line up, I am glad I looked at the above comment, I am following the written pattern. Thank you!
