The Crochet Gigi's Block Party Blanket is freshly revised using Bernat POP yarn. A crocheter, Laura Thiele, a friend, took it upon herself to crochet the sample for her pleasure to revise the stitch counts for the entire blanket.

Revised Version
Laura, who retested the pattern, used colour strategy. She used Red Heart Bitty Stripes in the colours called Horizon and Moonbeam. She used 2.5 balls of each. You can use the picture to see how she did the colours.
Keeping up with my love for self-striping yarn, I chose to use Bernat POP! in Blue Streak for this blanket. I used nine balls to crochet this blanket to a finished size of 56" square.

Instructions
Start with the Modern Granny section.
Ch 4; join with sl st in first ch to form a ring.
1st rnd: Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), 2 dc in ring, ch 1 [3 dc in ring, ch 1] 3 times; join with sl st to top of beg ch. 3 dc.
2nd rnd: Sl st in next 2 dc, [(sc, ch 3, sc) in next ch-1 sp (corner made), ch 3] 4 times; join with sl st in first sc. 1 ch-3 sp, 2 sc.
3rd rnd: (Sl st, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in first corner ch-3 sp, 3 dc in next ch-3 sp, [(3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in next corner ch-3 sp, 3 dc in next ch-3 sp] 3 times; join with sl st to top of beg ch. 9 dc.

This is when I like to place a stitch marker in the middle sc stitch of each corner to keep track of the center stitch. See the diagram in the printed pattern.

Which version of the pattern has the correct stitch count for all of the rounds?

The stitch counts in the pattern passed the original pattern were not tested and were our best effort to provide that information. As the pattern has been completed by many stitchers, it is written correctly as it was and we have confidence that future stitchers can work the pattern’s repeats and finish a beautiful piece

I'm having trouble with Round 29 stitch count as well (I'm getting 328). I've frogged, counted, & double-checked and everything adds up perfectly until Round 29. I'm really enjoying this pattern; it's fun and quick and easy, but I'm disappointed that I'm stuck 🙁

Those stitch counts were added on the 3rd revision of the pattern. Maybe I've made a mistake. Mine would be 84 per side. You are at 82 per side. You could fake 2 stitches in or probably just go with what you have.

Thank you for your reply! I went ahead with what I had for a count without fudging extra stitches and the stitch count was bang on for every round afterwards! I think I was more afraid of something not lining up farther along that it stalled me. I love your pattern and I just finished it today! Thank you ?

Is the stitch count off in row 29? I have double checked my work and row 28 is correct with 25 pc per side 220 hdc but that is not producing 336 sc for row 29. I’m confused.

What is the count you are ending up with? The rows increase by 8 or 16 between the SC and DC rows.
