Crochet Hexagon Baby Blanket

For some reason, hexagons really appeal to me.  I was inspired to create this Hexagon Baby Blanket based on the blanket Mikey did earlier this year.  The one he did was a pentagon-shaped blanket.  I decided to see if I could stretch it out to six sides and I think it worked well.  You can certainly use any colors to create your own look, but I love the ease of self-striping Caron Cakes.

Rnd 4 - 36: Rep Row 3.  Each rnd increases 12 sts.

Braid your Chain Loops

With RS facing, twist the 1st horizontal bar at 1st rnd to form loop.  Draw 2nd horizontal bar through 1st bar with one twist.  Rep, drawing next bar through previous bar with one twist until all bars have been worked.  Secure loop with a clip or safety pin.  Rep 5 more times for each set of loops.

I like to braid as I go along.  I find it easier then having the loops flap around.  I use clip to keep each braid from unraveling.
