Back to the basics, well sort of with this Crochet Modern Chevron Afghan that I designed. A beautiful play on those squares I love so much combined with my other favourite stitchwork of doing the chevron design.
This is actually my second attempt at the same design. The first design, I LIKED it... but didn't LOVE it! So I retried using a completely different colour scheme. Shows how colour can make or break your love for a project. This particular afghan has nostalgic feelings for me.
My first memory of anything crocheted is a chevron blanket that graced the back of our living room sofa. It was a striped single crocheted design made by my mom from the 1960's era, which is when I grew up. I created this afghan as an updated tribute to the chevrons of the past. This blanket features the block stitch and color pattern gives it an interesting designer look.
Finished size 50" x 64".
