Donna Bondy, our guest designer, has adapted my original Study of Texture Afghan to be a rectangle instead. Her adaptation didn't take away any of the texture in the original. The afghan is a different shape and takes approximately the same amount of yarn to do as a rectangle.
This pattern was recently updated with a new downloadable PDF. Stitch counts per side were removed as it was causing confusion.
Donna provides a different starting chain of information that is line with the stitching repeats of the original. She provided the stitch counts.
This is the square version.
Donna has added a bonus to increase the size by 20" per side. For your convenience, she has tested the pattern twice.

On round 25 I can't get 24 chain three spaces, it only has 90 stitches , with the two on each end 92. So 90 or 92 divided by 4 is twenty three. Please tell me how to get this right so I can finish the rectangle version of the crochet along. Please help me thank you for listening. I would like to finish this before the end of September.

I’m having the same problem. The counts don’t work. I’m making mins as a Christmas gift. Did you figure it out?
Rini says
I went ahead and messed with things to squeeze in 24 chain 3 spaces but now that I am on row 28, my count is off. If I had stuck with 23 spaces, my count would have matched. Hope this helps you.
