I have a pattern I need help with. Would you be able assist?
If it is a pattern we have in our website, you may ask on that article’s page so we know exactly where you need assistance
Hi Mikey,
I want to thank you (and I’m sure many people will agree with me) for your webpage with all its goodies.
I’ve had epilepsy since 1974, and can now only do easy patterns. But your videos make that possible.
Thanks and keep well,
Leslie
Hey Leslie, thanks so much and I super glad that our website can assist you in your educational needs. I prefer to stay within the easy level category of crochet for people, just like you, who are looking for a stitching journey and not necessarily trying to climb mounted everest.
Enjoy
The link seems to be broken for a blanket pattern I want. It is the “Crochet Blue Waves” using Caron Anniversary Cakes yarn, I keep getting a 404 error message. The Anniversary Cake colorway I wanted is finally in stock and I ordered 2 balls but now I cannot get the pattern! Help!!!
Which article is that? Can you give me a URL Web Address so I can locate it?
Article is updated. https://thecrochetcrowd.com/crochet-blue-waves-anniversary-cakes-blanket/
I have located the issue… I am going to temporarily suspend the article and contact Yarnspirations to request a file. It appears they took it down.
Michael
I would very much like to join The Crochet Crowd. I have been crocheting since the early 1960’s. I first learned in Home Ec. class.
With working a full-time job and raising my children, I didn’t have much time to do me favorite hobby, crocheting.
I’m a little rusty and not up to all the new stitches. Now that I’m retired I have the time, and want to start some new projects.
Loretta May
Loretta, I joined the Crochet Crowd for the very same reason…crocheting since the 60’s but not able to devote the time to learning any new stitches. I’ve been a member of this group for a year now and it has rejuvenated my passion for crocheting…so much fun now!
Hi Mikey,
I was watching you make a pullover the other day on my cellphone while in bed just before falling asleep but unfortunately I did not bookmark it. It is the one by Yarn Inspirations that you can make any size by simply adjusting the number of stitches… you were using a cheat sheet to show how to make the front V… I believe the color of the pullover was blue, using the stitch of 1DC, 1SC and then the next row you would do the opposite. I tried to look up that pattern on Yarn Inspiration but couldn’t find it. I very much want to make it for my great-nephew for his upcoming birthday.
The only thing I can think of is the Boy’s Vest. But that’s not a pullover. I cannot think of a pullover with that stitch combination. This could be it. The video tutorial sample is blue so it could be it. https://thecrochetcrowd.com/crochet-toddler-10-years-vest-tutorial/
Hi Mikey ~
Could you please tell me what stitch the gray blanket is in your pictures, with the colored dots on it. And is there a video for it? I am a beginner and the follow along videos help me alot. I love your work.
I think you are speaking about this blanket. https://thecrochetcrowd.com/crochet-pin-point-granny-afghan-tutorial/. There is a tutorial for it as well. Both right and left handed versions. Just follow the link.
Hopfully this is the one you are speaking about. I’m really not sure which pictures you have seen to know for sure.
Michael
Clicking on photo for Little Boy Blue 2 blanket does not work.
Thanks so much for letting us know. Getting that updated now.
Hi Mikey, I went to this page https://thecrochetcrowd.com/crochet-tunisian-project-gallery/ and there are not patterns listed and no place to leave a reply. So i’m going to say No Blue Button so you see this. I am going to try and help you identify the pages. THanks.
the link you posted here is a project gallery, there wouldn’t be any patterns
Thank you for your hard work!
Would you be able to explain how to convert your mosaic method ( 2 rows) into the one row – cut at the end of each row- method?
I want to do the Nordic Stripes and the Joann CAL but I can only do the one row method.
Thanks in advance!
I don’t understand your question. Can you rephrase it. I don’t know what is meant by 2 rows into 1 row.
This page explains the difference. https://www.rosinaplane.com/mosaiccrochet
Overlay == one row of each color. If you’re working in rows, that means cutting yarn at the end of each row. If you’re working in the round, no cutting needed.
Inset == two rows of each color. You stitch across, then back, returning to the starting edge of the work and carrying unused yarn up the side.
I need the tutorial on how to Crochet the Sugar’n Cream Spring Dahlia Dishcloth Jane thank you
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9kzXG2FN4U
Watch the video for the Nordic Stripes blanket it’s well explained and easy to follow along. I’ve never done a mosaic pattern before and my blanket is turning out awesomely thanks to Michael’s video

Hi my name is Salomie Stevenson and I’m looking for a crocheted hooded dinosaurs blanket pattern to make for my grandson? Please can you help me?
Thank you so much
Morning.. We don’t have anything like that in our collection. You may want to check Ravelry or ETSY for designs.
Hi there! I came across the tartan plaid blanket tutorial on your YouTube site (published June 24, 2011) and was wondering if there was a written pattern anywhere for it? I’d love to try it but I like having something to read along with and I couldn’t find it on here. Thank you!
No we don’t have a written pattern for the blanket, I found a scarf pattern with as close as I could find style, if you would like to try that, just simply increase the chains for a blanket.

Where can I find Mikey’s original learn how to crochet videos? They were so helpful for me when I first started out 6 or 7 years ago. He taught me how to hold my hook and the yarn and how to do each stitch. My daughter and some friends of mine are wanting to learn how to chrochet, and these videos are such amazing resources, but I can’t seem to find them anywhere now! Please help!
all his video’s are in youtube, just type in “the crochet crowd” and whatever it is you are looking for, ex. “the crochet crowd beginner tutorials” if he has a video for it, it will come up
Can’t find printed pattern for Tunisian cowl collar
Sadie, can you comment on the actual blog article. I cannot see to locate which pattern are you are looking for. I did search but we have several Tunisian cowls. I just don’t know which one.
i was wondering if there is a “mini me” pattern for the flora afghan.
i would like to make a small one and hang it on my living room wall.
I used at 2.5 mm hook and Patons Grace. I have it hanging in my office. The squares are about 7″ square.
Are there written instructions for Sheldon’s blanket
this one?
https://thecrochetcrowd.com/crochet-sheldon-sqd-granny-square/
The bernat stash blanket on ravelry.com has a broken link to the pattern. Not sure how to post there about it. I have posted in a few YouTube videos that also have broken links. My thoughts and prayers go out to your hard working crew hopefully when you get all the bugs worked out it will be smooth sailing and everyone can take a well deserved vacation.
Thanks. I will check further.
I’ve always enjoyed your site. Used to get your postings. When I got a new computer, I didn’t get them anymore. How do I get back on your list to receive your email postings
Morning Wilma. We are no longer doing newsletters. We are relying on social updating to Facebook and Twitter these days.
I am from South Africa and we dont have a lot of people that likes to share crochet patterns with other people most of them you have to buy.
I am looking for a diagram crochet pattern for crochet socks for adults.
All of them are written and i battel reading and crocheting the patterns with a diagram so much easier.
If anybody knows of somebody that would like to share that with me i will highly apreciate it.
Thanks

Hello,
I am looking for someone who’s welling to supply us their crochet work and well to do some special requirement of our client … do you know someone…?
we might need him to come her to Dubai to give some class as well
thanks,
I really don’t know of anyone that can do that. For myself, I don’t give out my artwork. I have done sculptures but the time investment is substantial. I don’t know of anyone that would travel to teach like that.
We do run Crochet Cruises in teaching on the cruise ships but we have not ventured outside of North America for that. We are scheduled for Australia, New Zealand and Fiji for 2021. It’s a long time away but we’ve not go to Europe or Dabai for crochet purposes. Just to Europe for vacations.
Michael
I make my grandchildren Christmas hats each year and would like to make the girls the crocheted Twisted Peppermint hat with a wide ruffle. The pattern is the one where you crochet a parallelogram and then join the edges to make the twisted look. I have made this hat but do not know how to add the ruffled edge. I have googled it, looked for it on Ravelry and Pinterest and have not been able to find a pattern, only a picture. I tried to add the picture to this message but was unsuccessful. Do you have or know where I might find this pattern?
Hi! I was wondering if there is anything called an crocheter’s block????? Do you ever take pattern suggestions??? Please say YES!!! I am looking for an ponytail hat with the hole in the back with an adjustable brim with button closure? I need at least 22″ around and then whatever to make the button closure. I have tried to mix and match patterns but it’s just not working and their yarn is bulky and I am using I Love This Yarn, 4 medium 7 oz. I have tried changing my hook size also, I just can’t get it and I know if anyone can make me a pattern it would be Mikey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
is there a correct name for the s shape form that you can crochet on, I bought this a listowel,on a few years back
I was wondering if it is possible that you put in a way to list the free patterns by newest additions seen first, or oldest seen first?
Let me check into that.
The list of free patterns by category default to newest is shown first. You can alternatively sort by Most Popular and name of project.
I just want to thank you for organizing by yarn brand/type! That is the most wonderfully helpful thing I think I’ve ever seen on a yarn/crocheting website! I have wished for exactly that so many times when looking through my yarn stash and wondering what to make with a particular yarn. TCC is the best and is always my first stop when looking for help or a new pattern!
Is there a written pattern for the C2C X 4 square afghan?
Yes, it’s here on the website. 😀
Hi Mikey I am looking for a written pattern for the virus blanket
Help me please.
We have a link for that on our website. Use our search engine and enter in Virus Shawl. Also, you can find the link on Ravelry.
Looking under patterns and under the topic of Tunics and the page loads all weird. Unable to see any of the patterns. Tried on 2 different browsers. Thank you 🙂
i’ll take a look later today.
I am looking for a tutorial on a pillow made withBernat home dec pebble beach varigated yarn which I did not get the pattern name I think it is called loop chain. I thought it was you who did the tutorial and it was excellent. I bought the yarn and now I can’t find the tutorial. I seen it around the New Year holiday
The other day, a photo of a completed walker caddy was shared. I have tried searching for the pattern, but failed. If possible, could you please create a tutorial on how to make one? I would love to make one for my 93 year old neighbor. My neighbor fell down a few months ago and broke her leg. She spent a lot of time in rehab and is now back home. She is currently using a walker to help get around.
I think you will find that pattern on the Red Heart yarn website.
Mikey, you truly are a hooker at heart. I am learning how to crochet without any problems. And I owe it all to your easy to follow videos. Thank you so much. The Crochet Crowd ROCKS!!!
Your list of 31 fingerless gloves is not working.
You guys are great I taught myself to Crochet using your YouTube videos. Hey from Australia
Wow! I love, love, love the way you have this website organized!! It’s so easy to find what I am looking for & I love that everything is so neat & orderly! Beautiful job! You guys are amazing!! Sending big hugs!
Thank you! Mikey and I put a lot of time into the reorganization to make it more user friendly for finding patterns. 🙂
Thank you so much. This is great no searching around. I appreciate all the time it took you guys to put this together thank you again and happy new year
Hello I was wondering if you knew any good patterns for a men’s hat? I haven’t been able to find a pattern. Thank you for in advance.
I’d like some advice on creating covers for my car seats. I can’t find a pattern and I’ve only been crocheting a couple years.. So I’m not sure how to make them without a pattern. Thanks in advance!
HI,
I am looking for the pattern shown under “Free Patterns” – “Tops”. It is the yellow one shown for the project gallery for Tops. When I click on the image, there are different tops there but I do not see the yellow one. Am I not seeing it if it is in a different color? I also checked tunics and vests.
Thank you for your help.

Hey Mikey, I’m just doing the kerchief scarf and I was trying to follow the pattern on the back of the wool label, I got so confused and frogged it many times and still could not get it right, I’m hopeless at reading patterns even though I have been crocheting since I was around 12 yrs old, and thank god a nice lady from my crochet group reminded me of your videos, you are a godsend thank you ever so much, you explain and show us in such a way you make it look so much easier. Thanks again. Kerry from Australia.❤️
Hi Mikey,
You are doing a great job on the crochet, but do you also make tutorials of knitting a sweater with a v neck? How to knit a v neck?
By the way I’m so happy with my Scandinavian snowflake afghan. Crochetgreetings from the Netherlands.
Hi Mikey. I was wondering if you have ever used Tivoli Float in any of your crochet patterns. If not , can you tell me what sort of yarn equivalent pattern I should look for ? Thanx ever so much and please keep up all your inspirational work.

I have an idea for a patterm, but I’m not a designer. How can I Send you the idea and let you see what you can do with it?

I just watched your video on PFDC for a Sampler Series Afghan. I have been looking for the directions for the entire afghan, but can not find the one that you used for the video. Could you tell me where I can find that pattern. I now know how to do the stitch for the first square and now want to make the sampler afghan. Please Help if you can!
Hi Mikey,
I am doing your chevron blanket with the bead stitch. I followed your short tutorial on the pattern and did fine. When I finish the first row of bead stitch and turn my work to start the row of sc I chain 1 and then do 2 sc in the same stitch. I then count my next 5 sc before doing the 3tog but for some reason I get six sc spaces before I get to my 3tog. What am I doing wrong. I tried reading your written pattern but I am not able. Would you have another tutorial that shows more rows of this style of pattern?
Hello, I hope you create a men’s gallery and an autumn gallery.
Hello Mikey,
Thank you so much for the video of the yellow scalloped top! I’ve been wanting to make it for awhile but I’ve never made a garment before and felt I needed some instruction. So I was excited to find your video! Now that I’ve started, I have a question. Is there some way to make it a medium on the bottom and small at the top? I want it to fit loose like the picture but the size small seems like it’s going to be tight around the torso. I’ve tried a size I and J hook and I’m getting gauge in the length and the width is just 3-4 stitches over, with both hooks. I’m using Caron Sayelle. It’s a lot like simply soft. Thank you!
I had trouble getting the right size. What I ended up doing was I made the front a size small and the back a size medium and it fits perfectly!
Just wondering if you can do a video tutorial of this pattern? I’ve tried it a couple times, and just can’t quite figure it out! http://www.redheart.com/files/patterns/pdf/LC2272.pdf
Thanks!
Mikey is sponsored by Yarnspirations and would not be able to film a tutorial for a pattern from another company. Sorry.
I think there is a tutorial for this pattern on the all crafts channel.
https://youtu.be/-n1rhYktQVc
Hope it helps.
I have a question on the earthly tones octagonal throw. Jeanne did this with caron cakes. Since you don’t fasten off each round with the cakes yarn, would you just chain 1 to go up a row or sl st to st indicated?

I’ve been trying to get someone who can explain the mistakes I found in certain patterns. Oh well, I can’t find a way to do that! Guess you don’t want to know about your mistakes!!!
Has anyone ever made a Boho Circle sleeveless Vest before? My boyfriends mom wants me to make her one and she sent me a pattern but I don’t know how to start it? Anyone have a video of them doing it or maybe translate the symbol pattern into actual worded directions? I can email someone the pattern if they are willing to help me! Thank you!!

Mikey,
What is the best way to join Tunisian panels?
What techniques do you use when the colors are different?
Thanks.
Did I see that you (or was it someone else?) had an alternate for the c2c which didn’t use up as much yarn?!?!?!?! I’ve gone back looking for it, and can’t find it anywhere!

Was curious about this also.

Mikey,
I have watched your video on doing the mermaid blanket, tail, etc. but cannot locate the actual hard copy of the pattern. I’ve been sitting here at the computer for over an hour and cannot find it…can you help me? I babysit and cannot sit at the computer much, I need the actual pattern please….the one done with the bernat bright yarn. If you can help me I would appreciate it.
Thanks, Norma Poynter…[email protected]
hi I just bought Bernat Blanket Big and a 25mm crochet needle… are there any crochet patterns for this…
I am looking for a baby afghan-blanket pattern for one I made many years ago. I believe it was double crochet. I crocheted it in white. Then crochet a chain stitch the width of the blanket and weaved it through the white blanket from side to side. I think the chains were crocheted in pink and blue. Then I tied a piece of yarn and looped around the edge like fringe. I have been unable to find my pattern. Do you have any suggestions where I might be able to get a free pattern of purchase one? Thank you.
Hi Darla,
Your baby blanket sounds like the first afghan I ever crocheted when I was expecting my 1st baby in 1970.
The pattern was a (double crochet, chain-1) stitch*. Repeat after * until the blanket is the desired size.
I crocheted mine in white also, made chains in pink and blue and wove them into the ch-1 spaces between the double crochets. I often wondered what the blanket would have looked like if I had used 1/4″ ribbon instead of the crocheted chains.
In the blanket at the ends of the chains I also made pink and blue yarn fringe like you did.
Hope this helps,
Anne
Hello, I’m looking for a pattern for a Scarf Hat (crochet of course as I don’t knit). can you let me know where I can find one?

Hi Mikey, Love your tutorials!! Is it possible to make a tutorial for seat belt covers?
i would like to find a crochet pattern, pref filet for the lords prayer. one that can hang on a wall about 24″ by 50″
We don’t have anything like that in our collection. You may have to make up the pattern yourself using graph paper. You could try Ravelry but it’s really specific to what you want. Sorry.
http://freevintagecrochet.com/filet-crochet-patterns/mailorder/703-filet-crochet-wall-panel-the-lords-prayer-pattern
You might want to try pinterest, I think I saw one there. Just go in to their search bar and type in The Lords Prayer in fillet crochet. Happy Hunting!
I would like to know which Bernat Pipsqueak yarn to get for the little lovely blanket, the big ball or the smaller balls?
It only says 3 ball but which size .
I’m checking the pattern link now. _ Stand By
Good Catch… I would assume the larger format based on experience. You couldn’t do an entire blanket with just 3 100g balls. It’s most likely 3 of the 250 g size. Here’s a link for product info. http://www.yarnspirations.com/yarn/pipsqueak-250g.html
Hi Mikey, would love to see a tutorial fro you on shark socks.
I would like to see a tutorial on the Apche stitch if possible, thanks Christine Hartley
Hi! I couldn’t find a place to send this…only do email…so I hope the person reading this can pass it on to where it belongs. I am no left-handed yet I continue to receive left-handed pattern instructions. Please, can someone change this for me? I have two email addresses [email protected] and [email protected]. Love Mikey and the Crowd! Thank you!
The tutorial learning channel is a single platform. It updates subscribers for each new video regardless if it’s right or left handed. It’s not an option to segregate it as we don’t have that control.
So sorry for the inconvenience but this is more YouTube than us. Michael
Hi there, I was wondering if there is s way to make the star blanket square? So that it looks like s star in the middle of a square blanket… Thank you! Connie

I have my batch of maple leaves done, but am unable to find an address where to send them.
Click on this link … http://thecrochetcrowd.com/project-maple-canadas-150th-birthday-exhibit/… address is located on the bottom of the page so you will need to scroll down. Thank you for your contribution 🙂
Where can we find the maple leaf pattern? I click on the display link at the top of the page and it just takes me back to the main Crochet Crowd page.
I have my maple leaves, too, almost ready to go. Are you still collecting them?
Yes we are… 🙂 Thanks so much.
Nice post. I understand something very cotlipcamed on distinct blogs everyday. It will always be stimulating to see content from other writers and rehearse a specific thing at their store. I’d prefer to use some together with the content in my small weblog whether you don’t mind. Natually I’ll provide a link on the internet weblog. Many thanks sharing.
I am trying to find a pattern for a pair of men’s shorts. I don’t care if it’s from the 70’s or today or if it’s free or a paid pattern… I have searched all over the internet and I don’t know where to turn now. I might have to make it up as I go along, but I would feel more comfortable with a pattern to reference. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
i am looking for you patern on flowwer dolls
You show a pattern for the breast forms but not one that i am able to print. Is there any way to send me one to my e-mail address? One of my dear friends has recently had a double mastectomy and I want to help her out this way.
I would recommend you contact the original designer for that. Legally, I cannot do that. I am sure they can help you as it’s a charity organization. Good luck to you and I am so sorry to read about your friend. 🙁
Please consider a tutorial for crochet stripes blanket designed by Lorna Miser using Caron yarn. I’m confused on row 1. It’s a new pattern on yarnspirations .. Thanks

I started crocheting at the beginning of last year I followed a few basic techniques to get my confidence and decided that I wanted to do a cable pattern that is when I came across your tutorial and my obsession with the crochet crowd began. I was on a weeks holiday last September and followed your tutorial to the letter which after watching every day and making samples at every stage of the cable pattern I was able to make my first baby blanket for a friends baby boy, I then went on to make my daughter a blanket in the same pattern which I then backed with a fleece. I just thought I would let you know that you have helped me gain my confidence to do a lot more projects so Thank You Mikey ?
Do you have a tutorial and pattern for the Virus Shawl?

b.) 1-ball 3oz/85g/145yd Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice, color: Purple Mist;
c.) 1-ball 3.5oz/109yds Serenity Chunky Deborah Norville Premier Yarns Collection, color: chocolate;

I got all these nice yarns that are just for my eyes only before December. You see, we do not have these variety of yarns being sold here anywhere.
My problem now is what to make of them? I do not want to make dish cloth or something of that sort with them but I would like to make something wearable or something that matters. I have been scouring the net for projects worthy of these fine yarns. But alas I was not fortunate thus I am turning to you and hoping you can help me out. Any suggestion is still a suggestion.
Thank you and a Happy Happy New Year!
Sui

Nothing means what exactly? Can you be more specific?

I am new to your site but enjoy it very much. It seems I end up here quite frequently. I was noticing the heart wreath and have tried to find the actual pattern and have not had any success. Could you please tell me how to get to the pattern. Thank you
Hello…I love your tutorials. I am doing the “learning to read patterns”. Hoping it will help as I really struggle…but I love watching the tutorials to make crocheted items. I am curious as to whether you have made the Bulky Poncho by VogueKnitting. I bought the pattern hoping I could read it…actually started and am stuck. Would you consider doing a tutorial on this pattern? I could send it to you.
I was wondering if someone knew where I could find a banana’s in pyjamas crochet pattern? most I found are knitted but wanting a crochet pattern
Mikey, I am trying to make the “meet me at the middle” top from Yarnspirations and uses Paton’s yarn. I am stumped on the second row of the top. There does not seem to be enough stitches in that row to make the ripples fit together, they seem to be turning out lopsided. Can you or one of your minions check this out. I have been working on it three days now and can’t “get there”
Thank you so much.
You can always call or email Yarnspirations’ customer service. there contact information is on their website. They are there to help you out with patterns that are theirs. 😀
This is a great addition to your site, which has become one of my favorites! I can only hope I live to be 200 yrs old so I can get them all done! Keep up the crafty work…love you guys!
Would love to see a “search” bar so it isn’t so difficult to locate a certain pattern, saw your video on a camosile and can’t find it here 🙁
I just did the project. Literally just finished. I haven’t written about it yet. I’ve not got that far. Sorry
Love your videos – very easy to follow!
Wonderful Patterns. But can I get diagrams? I’m more comfortable with diagrams
