Lemon Lime Textured Dishcloth
Learn with Jeanne on how to create a textured woven crochet dishcloth. Below is a pattern that has photographs to show you how. This is the lemon lime dishcloth.
- Lily Sugar & Cream - 2 colours - I used Hot Green and Yellow
- Crochet hook size 5.0mm H
- Yarn needle
Finished size is 7” square, but gauge in not important.
Special stitches
FPDC - Front Post Double Crochet
BPDC - Back Post Double Crochet
There is a video link at bottom of post for the post stitches.
Chain 22.
Row 1 - Dc in 4th ch from hook and each ch across. Turn. (20 dc)
Row 2 - Ch 2, FPDC around first 2 dc, *BPDC around next 2 dc, FPDC around next 2 dc, repeat from * across. Hdc in top of ch 3. Turn.
Row 3 - Ch 2, FPDC around first dc, *BPDC around next 2 dc, FPDC around next 2 dc, repeat from * across, ending with 1 BPDC. Hdc in top of ch 2. Notice that the texture starts to offset by one stitch. Turn.
Row 4 - Ch 2, BPDC around first 2 dc, *FPDC around next 2 dc, BPDC around next 2 dc, repeat from * across. Hdc in top of ch 2. Turn.
Row 5 - Ch 2, BPDC around first dc, *FPDC around next 2 dc, BPDC around next 2 dc, repeat from * across, ending with 1 FPDC. Hdc in top of ch 2.
Repeat rows 2 thru 5, then 2 thru 4 once more. Mine was square at this point. You can do more or less rows as you’d like. Finish off.
Border
Row 1 - Attach new color in same corner where you just finished, ch 3 and do 2 dc in same space. Working down the side of the cloth, space dc’s by putting 1 dc in first end, then 2 dc in the next end, alternating to next corner; 3 dc in corner, then 1 dc across beginning chain row, 3 dc in corner, alternate dc across second side, 3 dc in corner, and 1 dc across last row. Join to beginning ch 3.
Row 2 - Slst into next dc, ch 2 and do 2 hdc in same space, *hdc in next dc, alternate FPDC and BPDC in each dc to 1 dc before next corner, hdc in 1 dc before corner, 3 hdc in corner, repeat from * around. Join to beginning ch 2 and finish off and weave in ends.
