    Crochet Lemon Lime Dishcloth Pattern

    Lemon Lime Textured Dishcloth

    Learn with Jeanne on how to create a textured woven crochet dishcloth. Below is a pattern that has photographs to show you how. This is the lemon lime dishcloth.

    Free Pattern: Crochet Lime Dishcloth
    • Lily Sugar & Cream - 2 colours - I used Hot Green and Yellow
    • Crochet hook size 5.0mm H
    • Yarn needle

    Finished size is 7” square, but gauge in not important.

    Special stitches

    FPDC - Front Post Double Crochet

    BPDC - Back Post Double Crochet

    There is a video link at bottom of post for the post stitches.

    Chain 22.

    Row 1 - Dc in 4th ch from hook and each ch across.  Turn.  (20 dc)

    Row 2 - Ch 2, FPDC around first 2 dc, *BPDC around next 2 dc, FPDC around next 2 dc, repeat from * across.  Hdc in top of ch 3.  Turn.

    Row 3 - Ch 2, FPDC around first dc, *BPDC around next 2 dc, FPDC around next 2 dc, repeat from * across, ending with 1 BPDC.  Hdc in top of ch 2.  Notice that the texture starts to offset by one stitch.  Turn.

    Row 4 - Ch 2, BPDC around first 2 dc, *FPDC around next 2 dc, BPDC around next 2 dc, repeat from * across.  Hdc in top of ch 2.  Turn.

    Row 5 - Ch 2, BPDC around first dc, *FPDC around next 2 dc, BPDC around next 2 dc, repeat from * across, ending with 1 FPDC.  Hdc in top of ch 2.

    Repeat rows 2 thru 5, then 2 thru 4 once more.  Mine was square at this point.  You can do more or less rows as you’d like.  Finish off.

    Border

    Row 1 - Attach new color in same corner where you just finished, ch 3 and do 2 dc in same space.  Working down the side of the cloth, space dc’s by putting 1 dc in first end, then 2 dc in the next end, alternating to next corner; 3 dc in corner, then 1 dc across beginning chain row, 3 dc in corner, alternate dc across second side, 3 dc in corner, and 1 dc across last row.  Join to beginning ch 3.

    Row 2 - Slst into next dc, ch 2 and do 2 hdc in same space, *hdc in next dc, alternate FPDC and BPDC in each dc to 1 dc before next corner, hdc in 1 dc before corner, 3 hdc in corner, repeat from * around.  Join to beginning ch 2 and finish off and weave in ends.

      Like it however it came out a little too small so my next one I am chaining more than 22. I like my dishcloths a little bigger 😉

      Love it but we either need to chain 23 or DC in 3rd chain to hit 20 DC.
