Best Crochet Blogs of 2021
Best Crochet Blogs of 2021

Most of the choices are independent bloggers who are beating to their own rhythm and many are maintaining their own communities. The ranking is done based on internet traffic, social media followers, domain authority and freshness of content. This is automatically generated.

While we teach on behalf of Yarnspirations, we maintain our own flow for what works for our community base.

The Crochet Crowd, us, has been in the #1 position for a few years and the work involved in keeping the blog updated and social and analytical challenges is a real challenge. I can beat myself up over things I miss or sudden changes due to algorithm shifts.

Some hosts come and go but many are in it for the long term. It gets exhausting and so this ranking can shift if a host is a pedal to the metal versus an established host sitting back for a bit to recoup. I get the mental exhaustion and it's tough some days.

    Hi Mikey and Daniel,
I have crocheted since I was 8, and I am almost 65 now.
Crochet has been with me during good times, gotten me through some very bad times and has always been a comfort.
No matter how long a car ride was, or how sad I was or happy. It always helped me focus, calm and distract me.
Through tears, cheers and everything, crochet has helped me.
Thank you for letting me share.
    Maria

Thank you for this list. There are a few I haven’t visited yet! I noticed that the list appears to concentrate on North American crocheters. I would like to bring to your notice three European ladies who have websites, Facebook and Ravelry presence. They are truly masters at what they do. All is in English with wonderful video tutorials on their CALs. Please drop by and check them out
    1. lookatwhatimade.net by Dedri Uys: Afghans, toys etc
    2. lilabjorncrochet.com by Tatsiana Kupryianchyk: afghans, mandalas, sweaters, shawls
    3. itsallinanutshell.com by Esther Dijkstra: Afghans, shawls, mandalas

The list is actually generated by looking at the globe and pulling analytical data based on followers, engagement, comments and more. Where people are living isn't factored into this list. Even the languages aren't factored. On the YouTube analytical look, most of the top hosts are not from North America. We are number 2 but number 1 of Crochet is actually in Europe.

There are many factors such as website layout and ease of navigation. There is common elements about the top people versus others and it's usually the layouts, website speeds and more.

Michael thanks in advance I have been a member of the crochet crowd for several months now. When Facebook went down on Monday I lost my profile under Kris badura I have had to start over so I made a new profile under my now married name Kris mccann I have submitted my geometry blanket but now I have had to request to be a member again I have submitted my request 3 times its still pending ? Could there be something wrong or do I just assume i am not going to be accepted which would break my heart. When ever I have posted my items they pass thru almost in a instant. Am I just being anxious and need to give more time? Thank you

Morning Kris. It's now 7:40 am and I am stating this time because this message came to us at 11:55 pm in our time zone. The real-time passing of the new posts is our team working in real-time reading your posts before pushing approve. Yes, they are that quick but there are times where Jeanne or Wendy are not online and things get backlogged. They approve new people in batches so that's why there is a jump of 100+ people at a time in the community. They prioritize the reading of new posts.

I wouldn't assume anything is wrong at this time. We are not a 24-7 company. I don't get involved in approving posts or membership approval myself because I am usually working in real-time on YouTube as that's my main priority to ensure people are learning and picking up skills.

I'll nudge the team later this morning. Wendy is in California time so she wouldn't be up for a few more hours. Jeanne is heading to her real job shortly as she works with us part-time and checks in when she can.
