Look what happens when you combine Bernat Blanket All In One Granny Square to a loom knit hat. Yarnspirations yarn, 'put up,' they call it, has the 5 rounds of the colouring worked out for granny squares, but look what happens when you loom knit it up. The striping in the ball is cool.
This pattern will work just by using a single strand of Bernat Blanket. One ball of Bernat Blanket All In One Granny Square yarn will make two hats with little waste.
Equipment
- Loom is 9" across the pegs and has 36 pegs. Mine happens to be from Michaels.
- The yarn picker I use is called a Cricut Weeder. It's superior to the crap that is inside one of those loom knitting kits.
- Tapestry needle to cast off at the end.
Instructions
Cast on all 36 pegs. (counts as 1st rnd)
2nd to 17th rnds: E-wrap and knit each one of the rounds.
Brim: Fold edge of the cast on round and put it back onto the pegs. E-wrap and knit around to secure.
1st to 23rd rnds: E-wrap and knit.
Cast off: Cut yarn that is 24" from the last peg. Slip yarn into a tapestry needle. Use the tapestry needle to remove the loops and pull the yarn strand through. Once all loops are on the strand and removed from the loom. Pull the strand shut. Use a tapestry needle to secure the tail end on the inside of the hat.
