Being Canadian, I have always associated warm weather with very long days of daylight, and it wasn't until my twenties that I went south to the Caribbean and couldn't understand why it was dark so early! Oh, the pre-internet days of not knowing basic facts and planet tilt. The further north you go in summer, the longer the daylight is due to the earth's tilt.
